Bottled. Prun, plum, raisin and other sweet dried fruits in the aroma. Dark brown color, brown head, very nice lace. Light sweet, dark fruits, vanilla, very smooth. One of those beers that gets better while it warms up a little.

341ml bottle sample. There was a time that I drank this quite regularly. Pours rather dark and cloudy, small head. Smells of malt, hops and nut. Tastes much the same as smell sweet roasted malt, nut and slight hops. Has a slight watery consistency, good though.

The after taste is sort of of malty and the colour is dark and sexy... But it still has that swishy foamy taste of a lager ... which is not my thing... Scottish ales are strong heavy meals in a glass... this a little watery . I guess I’m being judgmental because I really like Scotch ales. But, as lagers go this quite good.

Originally rated June 2004. Dark red with brownish bubbly head (that lasted about 2 minutes... not bad). Nice mild aromas of chocolat and coffee, but this is nowhere near a stout. You can drink many of these without being full. In fact, you could only buy this beer in 24 packs, but it did not sell. Now, you can finally buy it in a 6 pack. Watery with hints of coffee and nuts, with a sweet smooth aftertaste. Very well priced and Lakeport’s best beer along with their Honey Lager.

Bottle, pour is a bit dark for a pale lager. A nice bitterness to it. A strange tasting brew, if one’s palate perfers. Not great, but not bad.

not bad at all......a bit thin and watery but has enough bitterness in the finish to make it worth buying......probably the best lakeport product

It's not THAT bad. For the price you can't complain....after all it is brewed out of Hamilton Harbour. I have bought 2 cases of it thus far. In the true sense it is not a "scotish ale" but I don't really mind it.

I don’t know why this is classed as a pale lager. I mean, it may be a lager, but it certainly wasn’t pale. I’m not so sure it was more malt..perhaps more caramel? Reminiscent of a thinned-out Rickard’s Red. I’m gonna finish the case, but not a top ten pick. A dark body, and a massive, but massively decaying head. Tasted like they added cornsyrup and dark colouring to a macro-lager.

Bottle. Dark brown body topped with a fair beige foamy head. Average malty/hoppy aroma with light caramel notes. Refreshing hoppy taste that lacks complexity. Ends with a short bitter finish. Not impressed.
