Lighter than the original premium lager, with the same great taste.

One of those beers whose existence is just baffling. It is very light, but perhaps has a bit more to it than the ’light’ beers from the larger breweries. I don’t know, I just don’t get it.

Barely yellow, and a white head that disappears. Fruity corny aromas, watery and bland.

Last from Laker to be rated by me. Minimal fizzy head, pale, pale look. Dusty unpleasant aroma, not much anything beyond that. Slightly acidic, a lot of carbonation that with such thin beer makes light soda like brew.

[1866-20081123] 355mL can. Wheat grass aroma with a nice bready yeast background. Clear, yellow body with a quick foamy white head. Flavour is similar to the aroma with wheat and grass and bready yeast but lighter. Light body. Surprisingly nice light beer, refreshing.

(Rating #2866)

Well you get what you pay for, what more can i say? Brewed for people who want a cold beer, that doesnt taste like anything. It delvers what it advertises, not my thing.

Not much going on here. Bottle about one year old, or so says my Dad. Pours almost colourless gold with a thin and minimal white rice infused head. Grainy rain water aroma. Watered down sweet grain taste with tonic water. Easy to drink though.......finished this in about 3 minutes. Thanks Dad.

355 ml can from the Brick Brewery retail store. pours pale yellow with a fizzy white head. the head quickly reduces to a ring but carbonation is moderate. aroma of light grainy 2 row, some adjucts (rice?), a puff of hop. the flavour is similar. the finish is not sweet but balanced not howid describe it. its more like the adjuct cider flavour and minimal malt have been watered down to the point where the carbonation makes them tolerable.

Originally rated May 2006. After reviewing the Lakeport Light, I decided to review this one... Lakeport’s competition. This one is slightly more expensive. Pours the same golden colour, has the same foamy white head, dissipates as fast and has hardly any visible carbonation, just like the Lakeport. Grainy malt nose that is quite present for a light beer. Grainy watery mouthfeel. The taste is slightly better than the Lakeport, with a bit more all-over flavours. Grain malt, mild fruitness like apples, honey and just a tad of corn in the aftertaste. Just a notch up from Lakeport Light, but both are unoffensive light brews.
