On tap at the Saucer in Addison. Smells of luscious bourbon and roasty malts.
Lactose takes a back seat to everything else going on here, and that's a shame. Toffee, bourbon, roasted BBQ malts, kisses the back if my throat with bourbon and malt sweetness. Pretty nice, but compromises its milk stout roots for the addition of bourbon -- and that's not cool. Take a page from Cognac Moloko's book and become even more awesome!

Special tapping at the Flying Saucer Garland BeerFeäst. Vanilla aroma. Poured a dark black with a massive tan head, and great lacing. Taste of Chocolate milk, oak, boozy, roasted malt, and slight bourbon. Medium carbonation, medium-thick body. One of the best beers I’ve ever had!

Tap at the Addison Saucer. Black pour with a thin beige head. Aroma is strong vanilla and bourbon with raisin, wood, caramel, and a little chocolate. Bourbon is strong in the flavor along with some caramel, chocolate, and vanilla. A little warmth. Slick on the palate.

On tap at BTBF. Pours with a black hued body with a tan head that lasts. Aromas are of cola, bourbon, chocolate, raisins and ash. Mild esters, wet wood. Flavors are a bit chalky, bourbon vanillin, raisny, dark fruits, cola. Bourbon character is a bit lower than I would like. Medium tannins, chalky, somewhat higher carbonation than expected, with a somewhat drying alcohol finish.

This is a big hot alcoholic mess that doesn’t even smell or taste like beer. Just way too boozy.

On cask at the brewery. The beer pours a dark brown color with some beige bubbles. The aroma is full of maple, oak and whiskey. The flavor is similar. The whiskey and heavily roasted malt come through first, but there is also some vanilla and a good bit of chocolate. I also get some brown sugar in the flavor. Medium to full mouthfeel and light carbonation. Very nice.
