This IPA has more in common with its Trappist cousins than with the face shredding IPA’s of the west coast. While we still have a healthy bitter backbone and floral hop notes, this IPA is decidedly malty and complex with the addition of our Belgian yeast. It’s the thinkin’ man’s IPA. Food Pairings: Spicy foods from Thai to Mexican food to Hot Wings

A hazed orange amber ipa with a thick frothy mocha head. In aroma, nice caramel malt with grassy floral hops, resinous character, grapefruit pulp, very nice. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with loads of resinous floral hops, treacle, clover field, nice and balanced. On tap at gas money, DFW.

Good, not great. I LIKE the hop-forward style; I also appreciate Belgian yeast. This beer is just a little of both. Not impressive enough to rate highly.

Let me preface this by saying I do not understand the Belgian IPA trend. I like Belgian beers and I love IPA’s, but this style is neither. This beer is a light amber color with a ring of off white foam for a head. Earthy Belgian yeast nose with some fruit and citrus notes. This drinks much more Belgian than IPA. Some apple and berry fruit with Belgian candi sugar and caramel. The finish has some hints of hop bitterness, but not enough for me. Decent beer in an bastard style.

Poured draft at the Admirals Club DFW. Amber honey in appearance with a short lived white head (could be the glasses at the location). Nose is subdued picking up some citrus but far more Belgian esters with apricot and honey next to the hops. Medium body, and distinct bite and sweet notes simultaneously. Aftertaste lingers with decided bitterness. This won’t fit any style but worth a try just to see how the yeast plays with and subdued the hops.

Amber brew with decent head, but there are chunks of stuff floating about in it. Wish the bottle or something had said this was bottle conditioned. Will watch out for the sedement on the next 5. Smells like fruit, melons to be exact, with a touch of spice. Taste is overly sweet with not alot in the way of hop bitterness. Not very enjoyable and I am having this right after eating some hot wings too, which they say it goes good with. While not a sink pour it is not my idea of a good IPA either.

Pours a slightly hazy amber-gold with a foamy off-white head and lacing. It has a nice aroma of spicy and piney hops. The flavor is malt, resin, and coriander up front with a malt and bread finish over Adium body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours amber orange with a one finger off white head with nice lacing. Aroma is of citrus, pine, belgian funk, sweet malts, and toasted malts. Taste is about the same as the aroma. Has a medium body with a semi creamy mouthfeel and a semi dry, semi biter, medium finish. Overall, a decent, above average IPA that has a nice belgian twist to it and is pretty drinkable.

Bottle at Reata restaurant in Ft Worth The IPA poured a clear copper color with an off white head. The off-white head dissipates slowly with limited lacing. There an aroma of citrus with some spices. The medium body ale had average carbonation. This is nice IPA. We were at the Reata for dinner at a Redskins away game with the Cowboys. Great win!!! The finish was smooth with a pleasant bitter aftertaste..

Bottle - flavor is well pronounced, stays on the palate longer than most beers. Aroma is fairly sweet too.

Bottle. This is more Belgian than IPA. Yeah there are hops but the Belgian yeast takes over. More hefe Belgian wheat than anything.
