COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We’re no monks, but our Belgian-style IPA gives a tip of the hat to our divine brethren. Brewed with rich malt, noble hops, Trappist yeast and a kick of coriander, this is one complex beer. Hop Trapp pours with a refined bitter backbone, floral hoppy notes and a decidedly Belgian finish. This brew is worthy of some serious contemplation.

Bottle from Rosebud Butternuts. Aroma seems floral/citrus with a nutty touch. Med body or better. Flavor is spicy, citrus, malty. The flavors are fairly strong - tho this is not a NW mouth burner the hop and yeast/spice are making it bitter enough. This flavor is quite different. Nice stuff.

On tap@Whole Foods Dallas. Clear amber color with ivory head. Nice bready pale malt aromas with belgian yeast spices. medium body, average carbonation. Dusty bready pale malt flavors with earthy belgian spices, and some mild flora---tasty IPA.

Bottle. Not bad, but not the Belgian style deliciousness that I was hoping for. Worth a try if you're interested, but I wouldn't return to it.

Not sure I have tried a Belgian ipa before; sounds like a good idea. aroma was that of a Belgian - yeast, spice. Taste starts that way and then moderately strong bitter hops kick in. didn’t like it mostly due to the bitterness but Lakewood is doing a good job overall, this just wasn’t my style.

12 ounce bottle. A light fruity nose with some sweet phenolic Belgian yeast. The flavor is a great meld of Belgian elements with bigger fruity hops, light bitterness. Some nutty flavors with banana and clove, big oranges. Good.

Pours clear copper with a large white head. Smells metallic, yeasty, and piney. Taste is bitter, bready, and a little metallic. Medium-bodied with a slick texture and mild mouth-carbonation, Lakewood Hop Trapp finishes with a mild bitterness.

Pours a hazy orange/grey/red color. Notes of belgian candi sugar, earthy hops, and chips. Lots of good malted barley. Foamy mouthfeel. Strange after taste

12 oz bottle thanks to crajun. Pours a slightly cloudy amber color with a big frothy head that fades slowly and leaves nice lacing. Great appearance. Aroma is almost entirely Belgian spices and yeast. Light floral notes too. More flowers come out in the taste but it’s still mostly a spicy Belgian ale with some bitterness. I’m enjoying this more than most Belgian IPA’s I’ve had. Finish is very smooth and a little creamy. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy. This is really well made but Belgian IPA’s are just hard for me to love. This is probably the best Belgian IPA I’ve had.
