COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This IPA has more in common with its Trappist cousins than with the face shredding IPA’s of the west coast. While we still have a healthy bitter backbone and floral hop notes, this IPA is decidedly malty and complex with the addition of our Belgian yeast. It’s the thinkin’ man’s IPA. Food Pairings: Spicy foods from Thai to Mexican food to Hot Wings

Clear bronze with a generous foamy off white head. The nose is citrusy and funky with a Belgian bright fruit ester combined with American hop dankness. The flavor is strong and malt forward with some toast and earthy caramel sweetness, with some trailing Belgian pear/apricot esters following behind with a touch of grapefruit rind. Really pleasant, complex, and quite drinkable.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2013 Out of growler thanks to Mar. Pours hazy orange/gold with soapy beige head. Aroma has very nice tropical fruit and malt notes, floral. Flavor is much the same, dry with a light bitterness in the finish. Medium mouthfeel with medium-high carbonation. Overall, very solid brew!

Light easy drinking, slight caramel flavor amongst the bitter ipa tastes. Not the most strong ipa ever

Pours clear orange with a lasting head. Sweet malt and citrus aroma. Excellent hop bitterness without over doing it. Reminds more of an English IPA than American. Very smooth on the palate with a lingering hop finish. Very nicely done.

Poured a nice amber with little head. Soft nose and a very soft, very appreciated palate. Not a hopheads Ipa, but one I could easily stomach.

On tap at the brewery’s 1st tour. Deep amber brew with a nice white head. Nose of spicy Belgian yeast, floral hops, and citrus (especially grapefruit) - bitterness is there but not overpowering. Lots of juicy citrus and earthy hops.

Bottle from Rosebud Butternuts. Aroma seems floral/citrus with a nutty touch. Med body or better. Flavor is spicy, citrus, malty. The flavors are fairly strong - tho this is not a NW mouth burner the hop and yeast/spice are making it bitter enough. This flavor is quite different. Nice stuff.

Bottle - Fruity yeast esters and some light citrus. Clear copper with a thin beige head. Fruity yeast, dry bitterness and a clean finish. Nicely balanced sweetness and bitterness, easy drinking and quite nice.

Pours a nice slightly occluded amber color. Citrusy, yeasty, and piney on the nose; all follow onto the palate. Finishes with a bit of spice and flowery hops. Fairly complex for an everyday IPA.
