UPDATED: APR 3, 2015 Re-rate with the nitro version and it’s good. Nice toasted chocolate aromas with malts mixed in. Really dark black head with minimal tan head. Smooth palate that had a unique viscosity. Roasted and sweet malts, some chocolate and milky flavors as well. They all blended nicely and were even a little burnt, in a good way. Very good offering from a new brewery. Great smooth and creamy feel.

Dark black frothy creamy head. Nose reveals coffee, cocoa, molasses, fig, oak, olive, brownie and oat. Flavors coffee, olive, oak, light smoke, cocoa, molasses. Medium to high sweetness. Light smoke, light astringent bitter finish. Good!

Bottle at Kennys smoke house in Dallas. Dark brown almost black pour and smoky milk sugar nose. Full body with head that doesn't last the full pint. Caramel and milk sweetness and bit of barrel taste too. Would definitely do again.

Bottle share at Steve’s. Mild for a RIS, but super tasty. Slick and slippery, mild smoky and savory notes, cinnamon, nutmeg and anise. Highly enjoyable.

12oz bottle thanks to Steve. Pours out a dark brown topped with a small head. Nose is light roast some vanilla bourbon barrel. Taste is more of the light roast malts a light bourbon barrel with a odd end.

Bottle. Roasted marshmallow, coffee and mocha aroma, frango. Black, thin wimpy beige head, unstable. More coffee on the tongue, some vanilla and mint, big yet crisp on the back. Good.

Aroma - slight roast, alcohol, chocolate, and vanilla Appearance - the body is black. The head 1/2" beige head, that settles to a film. Some alcohol cloying. Taste - velvety vanilla and chocolate, some marshmallow, and a slight bit of roast. Palate - full body, thick texture, average carbonation, and dry with a slight roast astringent finish.

Brown black with dense tan head. Aroma is roasty sugars, with a light treacle edge. Taste is the same, and very rich, and has just the right amount of sweetness to balance all the flavors, with coffee into the finish. #1999, first Dallas beer
