Bottle 341 ml. Pours amber with a quickly diminishing off-white head. Aroma: Caramel, malt, alcohol, herbal. Taste: Harsh. Malt, caramel, strong notes of alcohol. Dry finish. Alcohol warming. Overall: Lack complexity. Very harsh but should be better with aging. Give this beer the time to mellow.

Correcte. (158-310112)
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 VT (796) - Quebec City, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 4, 2012
341 ml bottle. Pours a nice amber ruby red. White head with very low retention. Smells of grains and herb. Good malty caramel taste with hints of fruits. Alcohol is present, as should be expected. Nice dry finish. Strong body, medium to low carbonation. Good one!

12oz bottle. Nice mahogany with a quickly fading tan head. Alcohol, raisin, caramel, malt. Very hot and prickly, moderate carbonation, alcohol overwhelms a lot, moderate body apart from the booze, sweet with a nice hoppy undertone, becomes dry and bitter at the end. This one definitely seems like it needs a bit of time to settle and mellow out.

Au nez c’est assez discret comparativement à ce que la première gorgée apporte. Grosse note de cassonade, caramel, pomme verte et fruits confits dans un corps plein et grossier. Pas très élégant mais assez bien réussi tout de même.

341ml bottle. About 2 years old.
Appearance : Deep clear amber with no head.
Aroma : Rich peachy fruits with some raisins.quite sweet.
Taste : Sweet raisins and dried peaches. Some wood with alcohol. Plums and other dark sweet fruits. Lots of raisins on finish.
Overall : Big, sweet, alcoholic. I was afraid it was going to be worse than this though. Decent fruity profile with decent malty sweetness. There’s however no elegance there, it’s just massive sweet raisins but not much else.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 ChainGangGuy (4123) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - OCT 19, 2011
Appearance: Pours an amber-brown body, good clarity, with no apparent head formation.
Smell: A simple, lightly scented trace of bready, caramelly malts, then, a bit of fruitiness and sniff of booze. It’s just not particularly inviting or appealing. You just want to quietly, carefully pour it back into the bottle and dismiss it as you push it aside with your hand, moving on to something else. But, we’ve come this far, let’s press on!
Taste: Well, huh, there’s oddly very little flavor for a purported eisbock, though it’s no surprise after the underperforming aroma. A touch of toast, very mild, with faint hints of herbs, apricots, and tangelos. Drying, warm finish. You’re in and out in a flash, as there’s not much going on in there.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Nil carbonation.
Overall: Unlike any eisbock I’ve previously encountered, in that it’s totally lacking all the rich, complex maltiness and potent, pleasing flavors one would expect and hope for. If this is the concentrated, post-freezing results, I’d be curious to see what the heck they started with.
