Draught @ Bateau de Nuit, Québec. Pours very dark brown with small tan head. Dark aroma of roasted malt, raisins, caramel and coffee. Seeet flavour of maæt and fruit, with roasty and coffeelike notes and touches of hops and yeast. Roasty, bitter aftertaste. Creamy mouthfeel. Warming alcohol presence. Good. Very good.

Mousse dense, noire et persistente. Arômes de café présentés au nez et en bouche. La forte teneur en alcool est bien équilibré. Une bonne impérial stout, un de mes styles préférés, mais sans être extraordinaire non plus.

Dark brown colour with beige head on the sides. Aroma has licorice, roasted malts and coffee. Taste has roasted flavours, salty licorice and some herbs. Medium body and medium carbonation. Something was missing, I think some sweetness would’ve done good in this one.

Dark as Batman. Sweet and chocolate and coffee. Easy dessert beer. Sadly something is still missing, a character maybe.

Bottle. Black, tan head. Ashy roasty salty licorice on nose. Roasty malts, some pine. Full med bodied. Quite smooth. Really smooth actually, almost silky on the palate. Some woodyness, slight licorice, roasty, roasted barley. Finishes med quickly. Ok, easier RIS. Ashy roast, but somewhat sort.

341ml bottle. Black in colour with a lingering thin tan head, good lacing. The aroma is quite malty, lots of chocolate, roast, a bit burnt. The flavour is moderately sweet, some cholocate, dark fruits, light coffee. Finishes long, sweet but a bit thin.

Roundhouse before Penang. Cola black, watery, thin tan fizzy head. Smells of coffee, dark malt, liquorice, squid ink, herb/grass, bit of soy sauce though more bitter than cloying. Taste is quite burnt, sour, herbal bitterness, slight lemon and toasted cereal/grain. Body is sharp, bitter, herb. Not bad but a little too heavily herbal, burnt and bitter for my liking.

HKdIPA (458) - HONG KONG - APR 12, 2015
Bottle at Roundhouse (pre Penang trip). Dark flat black pour with very minimal head and little carbonation. Uh oh. Aroma is deep roasted chocolate malt with a tiny bit of soy. Not as raisiny as it looks. Taste is very chocolatey, roasted, some bitterness, boozy sticky finish with a lasting warm bitterness. Palate too flat for me. Wouldn't get again.

Super dark body and impressive head. Not quite as thick as I expected perhaps, but still very deep, coffee, tar, cacao, brown sugar, pine trees. Taste is a little lighter, but full nonetheless. End comes faster than hoped. Nice imply, perhaps a bit light in body, classic appeal. (Bottle from Saveur Bière)

Fiche technique Style: Impériale Stout Format: 341 ml Taux d?alcool : 7,9% Température: 14°C - 16°C IBU: 30
