341ml bottle. Black in colour with a lingering thin tan head, good lacing. The aroma is quite malty, lots of chocolate, roast, a bit burnt. The flavour is moderately sweet, some cholocate, dark fruits, light coffee. Finishes long, sweet but a bit thin.

Roundhouse before Penang. Cola black, watery, thin tan fizzy head. Smells of coffee, dark malt, liquorice, squid ink, herb/grass, bit of soy sauce though more bitter than cloying. Taste is quite burnt, sour, herbal bitterness, slight lemon and toasted cereal/grain. Body is sharp, bitter, herb. Not bad but a little too heavily herbal, burnt and bitter for my liking.

Bottle at Roundhouse (pre Penang trip). Dark flat black pour with very minimal head and little carbonation. Uh oh. Aroma is deep roasted chocolate malt with a tiny bit of soy. Not as raisiny as it looks. Taste is very chocolatey, roasted, some bitterness, boozy sticky finish with a lasting warm bitterness. Palate too flat for me. Wouldn't get again.

Super dark body and impressive head. Not quite as thick as I expected perhaps, but still very deep, coffee, tar, cacao, brown sugar, pine trees. Taste is a little lighter, but full nonetheless. End comes faster than hoped. Nice imply, perhaps a bit light in body, classic appeal. (Bottle from Saveur Bière)

Fiche technique Style: Impériale Stout Format: 341 ml Taux d?alcool : 7,9% Température: 14°C - 16°C IBU: 30

Purchased in a local IGA. Pours a real dark brown colour, almost black with hardly any red highlights. Creamy mocha-beige head, good retention and a rich creamy lace all-around. Hoppy roasted malt aromas giving out notes of chocolate, coffee, grass and earth. Wow.. the mouthfeel is pretty thin. Quite hoppy for an impy stout with lots of weird grass showing. Yes, every sip has this very different, almost rusty taste to the start. Thankfully some roasted malt lingers. Still, would not have this again.

Courtesy of Jaghana. Couleur noire huileuse, légère mousse bien brune. Nez malt noir, chocolat noir, moka, note amere. Superbe!

Bottle 341ml kindly shared by Dominique. A dark be er with copper head. Nose is low on dark chocolate, bit of coffee astringency. Aroma is on dark chocolate with intense coffee notes, body seems low for the alcohol level, finish is dry with coffee astringency.

Pour is jet black with a fizzy dark brown head with reddish hints. Very mild retention and no lacing. Aroma is lots of chocolate, coffee and roasty-toasty goodness. Taste-wise it’s....weird. There’s this weird earthy/leathery element that seems out of place, and kind of kills the chocolate/roasted malt. It’s also kind of watery. As is often the case with these guys, I’m a little underwhelmed.
