Diacetyl and a hint of chocolate on the nose. Chocolatey palate but the butter comes through and it’s buggering the whole thing up. Not clean enough.

@Mondial de la Bière 2012, Montreal - dark black beer with a little beige foam left; roasted malts, black cherries and licorice; some hop presence in the background; clean and medium-bodied; dry and fairly hoppy; bitter and long hoppy finish of dark fruits and roasted malts

Mondial de la bière à Montréal 2012. Couleur noire. En bouche, un peu de brûlé, pas désagréable. Notes de torréfaction, café, un peu de chocolat. Finale, torréfaction et petite amertume. Bonne.

Beershine (5174) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - JUN 6, 2012
Draft at mondial. Dark brown, thin head. Aroma has diacetyl but subtle. Dark malt character is really nice with sprucy hop in the finish. Palate is roasty, almost burnt. Not the best but really good dark roast character. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft: Poured a clear dark color ale with a medium size brown foamy head with light retention. Aroma of citrus and light pine hops with light roasted malt notes. Taste is also dominated by some citrus notes with pine and some light roasted malt. Body is a bit light with good carbonation. Nice hop punch but malt presence is a bit off.

[1486-20080601] Tap. Sweet caramel and toasted grains aroma. Clear, dark brown amber body with a quick bubbly off-white head. Bit of caramel malt and lots of toasted grains in the flavour. Medium-full body is a bit astringent. Good.

Draught @ Mondial 08’. This selection had been a holdover form last year according to the brewer at the both. Dark and complex. Wood and an unusual sweetness that I could not place. Too much in int to really get my head around.

2008-06-01. Very dark brown body with a modest tan head. (3+) Mild roast aroma, dark sweet malt, light toast. (6+) Fairly bitter flavour, melange of hops and roast bitterness, touch of leafy resin. (6+) Average palate. Seems to play in the same park as DDC’s Penombre but less successfully so. Okay but not something I would choose again. On tap, Mondial, Montreal, Thanks Geoff
