341ml bottle. Clear copper body, small beige head, good retention, lots of lacing. Aroma of orange caramels, caramel malt, flowers, peaches and mango. Taste with a good dose of herbal hops, caramel malts, grapefruit zest, oranges, resins. Nice.

341ml bottle. Clear amber with a off-white frothy head. Aroma is toffee with piney and citrusy notes. Taste is caramel, citrus, bread, earthy hops and toasted malts. Medium body, moderate carbonation, oily texture. Not very bitter. More like an APA.

Pours a nice copper topped by a finger of fluffy tanned head showing moderate retention and leaving some lacing as it skrinks to an uneven porous layer. The nose is caramel paired with refreshing hops midway between resinous and floral. Very good balance in the nose that deserves credit. The taste keeps the same pace with at first a resinous attack closely followed by a round caramel through a medium body. Once again balance makes both the hops and malts shine. Very nice IPA

(1277-051014)

Clear deep copper with a one finger off white head that leaves minimal lace. Lots of pine and citrus with a pronounced toffee backing. Light sweet brown sugar start with a moderate grapefruit and resin bitterness in the middle through the finish. Mouth is medium light and a little thin with a long dry finish.

bartlebier (2483) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - SEP 26, 2014
341ml bottle bb05/2015 from Mondial de la Bière. Label "India Pale Ale" + "Red Ale/Bière Rousse" sets the stage for the stylistic mix of red and pale ale: red-inflected, deep orange pour, rougher-pored foam. Aroma of fresh figs, branches, red berry, some cherry coke. Taste is on the rougher side of red berry peel resinous as well, going on leafy-metallic: tea leaves, red berry peels, green twig bitterness. Hm.

Couleur cuivrée sombre, petite mousse blanche. Nez houblonné fruité, herbe grasse, note malté caramel. Gout houblonné fruité douce et malt caramel, avec bonne amertume de sapin en fin de bouche assez longue amère.

Pours a clear a,ber with a medium offwhite head that leaves some lacing. Nose is a bit rough with hop oils and pine over a bed of sweet malt but it gets the job done. Some citrusy notes as well. Taste is moderately bitter, offers some caramel as well as some alcohol (strange for such a light brew) and citrusy hops. Body is pretty light but not too light, carbonation moderately high and bitterness lingers for a long while. Overall a fair IPA, the label is new to me so maybe they tweaked the recipe?

A step up from leiths. Hazy fold pour, good sized head. Only faint hopping in the aroma and taste, fairly sweet, not overly bitter. Easy drinking but uninteresting.
