3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Slightly hazy copper w/ creamy finger of white foam. Grapefruit hops on the nose w/ notes of carmel, toffee, toast & chocolate. Medium-to-full- bodied, sticky feel. Solid malt, hoppy flavour w/ a long, bitter finish.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This opens up with a nice off white head of creamy frothy head that only can be faulted for disappearing so quickly. Under the foam lies an inviting clear deep amber body.
Flower hop aroma hits the nose followed by some carmel malt with a hint of yeasty bread dough.
The flavor starts off sweet and ends with a bitter touch. A bit thin but quite drinkable overall.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bouteille, Nouveau format, 341 ml.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cloudy Orange, with a big white head. Very toasty aroma, with notes of toffee and caramel. Big malt base - bready, toasty, with a woodsy pine finish. Definately a subtle approach to the style, and still tasty. Thanks to Springslicker for this one!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle - 500ml. Nice amber body topped with a huge white foamy head. Fresh hoppy aroma with floral, vanilla and fruity (mainly orange and lime) notes. Very pleasant hoppy taste with subtle honeyish, woody, and roasty hints. It leaves a long bitter aftertaste. This is definitely the best product from L’Alchimiste.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
500 ml bottle. Translucent copper with a thick diminishing snow-white soupy head and a touch of lacing...lots of sweet orange in the nose, and if effort is made, some odd notes of vanilla and mint....well-balanced body with plenty of malt, sweet juicy ripe orangy acid and perhaps some cherry, and a grassy/herbal character to the hops to finish...overall, moderately bitter, hardly challenging IPA but supremely drinkable.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sampled on-tap at Vices et Versa.
Reddish gold, with a thin ring of lacing around the glass. Hops are spicy and a little piney, but alas a bit too faint for my taste. It wasn’t that smoky in the bar, but that may have been a factor.
The malt is honey sweet and the bitterness has that gripping feeling, I’m willing to bet they use Goldings on this one.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at Vices et Versa. Dark golden ale with a thin white head. Malty aroma with rather German hops in nose. Good malty base with some butterscotch notes and pinhey hops. Oily mouthfeel. Rich and resinous.

2.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Grapefruit-citrus hops, brown sugar and soap in the aroma. Clear copper-amber with large, rocky, off-white head that diminishes immediately to lasting cover with plenty of very nice lacing. Strong malty flavour is somewhat vinous. Notes of burnt brown sugar and citrus (grapefruit/orange) hops. Lasting bitterness on the tongue. Moderate carbonation and medium body. Bottle (Rahman - Feb. 2005).
