Draught at Vices & Versa, Montréal, QC. As L’Alchimiste India Extra Pale Ale.
Clear pale golden colour with small white head. Dry fruity aroma with some sweetness. Quite mild though. Mildish bitter hoppy flavour. Bitterness fades quickly. Easy for an IPA.

pours clear copper with a decent white head. caramel malts, floral, citrusy hops, decent malts. just not so complex but a fairly decent brew sticking to the style.

Pours a reddish auburn with a limited white cap. Aroma is light grain and a nice earthy hop. Taste is earthy, smooth malt and a light hop. Easy drinking but a tad boring.

Originally rated December 2005. Last of the four IPA’s I was testing tonight. Purchased at Dépanneur de la Rive in Cap-Rouge, Quebec. Pours a clean amber colour with a crazy big creamy fat head. Retention is extremely long and foamy, so is lacing. Close to the Bièropholie Cascade in appearance. The nose is pretty hoppy, with some notes of green apples. Some wax is felt in the mouth. Smooth bitterness, quite mild actually. Not a bad brew, but prefer the Bièropholie IPA’s much better.

341mL bottle from Trappe Fromage. Pours a dark amber, hazy with a tiny beige head. Aroma is really nice, very good piney hop character with mild toffee malts. Flavour doesn’t disappoint with the same mild mannered malt character outdone by some tasty, prickly hop presence. Can’t put my finger on the variety, but they seem to have made a legitimate IPA here, not something just labelled as one. Like Sgt. Major’s, with a richer malt profile and prominent hop presence. Seems to vanish quickly after being poured, I wish I’d got a sixer of this. This brewery has really impressed me so far.

From a grocery store in St-Jean. Pours amber, Quite a thick beige head. Fruity aroma (peaches (malt?), citrus (hops), with some bread. Really, really pronounced caramel taste. Hops are nothing special. Aftertase is interesting. Good, "simple" IPA - starter’s material?

UPDATED: APR 9, 2012 Bouteille 341 ml. 5.5%. Couleur ORANGE, bonne effervescence, mousse blanche-beige mince. Assez mince, saveur de caramel brulé et houblon. Amertume présente mais pas accaparente. Bonne mais pas vraiment amère pour une IPA

Bottle. Beautiful orange amber, robust golden head. Peachy toffee aroma. Sweet toffee malts, crisp hop bite, bitter finish. Solid.
