18-01-12 Fut: Couleur noire foncée avec une belle mousse beige, épaisse et crémeuse. Légers arôrmes de café avec petite note de chocolat. Asser amer. Coprs léger pour une imperial stout avec une texture trop mince pour le genre. Se boit tout de même facilement, peut-être du fait qu’elle est plutôt légère comparé aux imp stout américaines à 9-10 %.

Coffee, chocolate, this one is light but tasty. It’s not complex but very enjoyable. It fits the kind of beers that l’Amère à Boire makes.

On tap at the Brew Pub. Poured a black color, with brown edges and a small sized off white head. Chocolate, dark fruits, roast, and some bitter coffee finish.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2012 Incroyablement onctueuse, à la manière Guiness mais avec un profil de saveurs d’un autre calibre totalement. La version bière d’un café au lait. Aucune amertume, très très facile à boire.

On tap at the Brewpub. Poured a jet black with a solid beige head. Prominent notes of chocolate and roasted coffee beans in the aroma, with subtle resinous hop undertones. Very tasty brew, the malts lend a rich flavor, loads of cocoa and coffee character without being overly sweet. The hops are less present than in other imperial stouts I’ve tried, though they yield a bitterness that gives the beer a balanced profile. Finishes with a lingering molasses touch on the tongue. Quite smooth on the palate, the body is a bit thinner than expected although it makes for a very drinkable result. Nicely done.

Black with a large creamy beige head. Aroma is torrefied malt, caramel and some herbal hops. Full body with low carbonation. Flavours is chocolate, carame, a bit bitter at finish. Well done.

Draft. Pours a black body with a tan coffee head. Creamy carbonation, with a light chocolate and coco like sweetness. Nice bitter coffee like notes, and bitter earthy hop tones. Licorice hints, dark chocolate bitterenss. Nice drying finish, pretty roasty. A nice offering.

Une pinte sur place. Cette ale est noire, très foncée, la mousse est brune elle offre une bonne rétention. Le nez est agréable avec de la torréfaction, un peu de café rôtie. La bouche est moyenne-mince, un peu sucrée, elle manque de caractère, elle est facile à boire. Je préfère les lagers de ce brasseur que leurs ale. Question de goût.
