JonR888710 (999), Cochabamba, Bolivia Apr 22, 2007 Cloudy apricot orange/gold brown. Head is large bubbled, buttery white. Smells of pine. Tastes like a gimmicky, berry-weizen. Nothing like an IPA! A little watery, malt, blueberry in after. JDUB (170), Beautiful Venice Beach, California, USA Apr 14, 2007 Slightly hazy with small particles, orange amber. A yeasty, hoppy aroma. consistent flavor. CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA Apr 11, 2007 Bottle courtesy of Ughsmash, best by 063007: Pours a transparent bright copper bronze with a frothy-lacing light tan head. Dry grainy earthy aroma has a touch of citric hops. Body starts faintly sweet with a lot of earthy grainy character toward a drier, buttered grapefruit finish. Needs a better, cleaner base malt and more, fresh aroma and flavor hops. Ughsmash (3978), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Mar 16, 2007 Bottled. Poured clear medium golden with a short white head. Nose picked up soft, sweet floral, caramel, and mild grains.. touch of lemon. Flavor found a lightly-toasted caramel base with mild herbal bitterness and again a hint of lemon. Pleasant and drinkable, but certainly boring. Soft and lightly grainy on the palate.. a bit less than medium-bodied... mild lingering bitterness on the short finish.
vyvvy (2023), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Feb 7, 2007 Pours clear copper with a fizzy / rocky off-white head. The aroma has grainy / husky malt with a tiny bit of butter and some earthy spice hops. Medium body with quite a bit of sharp carbonation. Taste starts with grainy malt and grassiness. Some spice from hops and a bit of diacetyl on the finish. An okay pale ale; however, it seems to have more of a pilsener taste than anything - odd thing for an ale. TerryR (382), Oswego, Illinois, USA Feb 2, 2007 Amber with a fading white head. Nice lacing. Herbal hop aroma with some underlying grainy malt notes. Flavor is slightly sweet malt with a spicy hop finish. Not bad, especially for the price ($4.99). PilsnerPeter (2585), Flushing, New York, USA Jan 30, 2007 Found this 12oz Bottle at Whole Foods in Union Square. Deep orangey pour topped by a white film. Grainy citrus aroma. Some orange peel, and hints of bready grains. Light in body. Grainy flavors with only light hints of bitter orange. There’s a big herbal character, with some spicyness in the finish. Prolonged herbal and spicy characteristics in the finish as well (sage?). Interesting, but nothing standout. locarboy (115), USA Jan 26, 2007 The organic version from a 12 oz. screw top lid. Poured a orange, bright copper color with a large rocky head that dissapated to a nice thin layer. Only a bit of lacing down the glass. Not much aroma for a pale ale. Hop flavor was pushed toward the bitter with some citrusy flavor. I detected a sort of costmary aftertaste on the sides at the back of my tongue. The malt was a bit thinnish. Overall I enjoyed it. I wasn’t expected to be knocked off of my feet for $5 a 6-er (about what you pay for a 6 of budmilloors).
