hopscotch (5440), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Jul 24, 2007 Bottle... Clear amber ale with orange highlights and a mid-sized, fizzy, off-white head. Decent retention. Biscuity, malty nose with a strong note of toasted English toffee and a faint note of black tea. The flavor slants toward the sweet side of balance. I really like the blend of biscuity and pilsner-esque pale malts alongside moderately bitter, earthy hops. Great roastiness. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. Toasted caramel, earthy, bitter-sweet finish. Malty, English IPA! omhper (12154), Stockholm, Sweden Jul 4, 2007 Bottled. Hazy pale amber, brief head. Vague orangey nose. Sweet and medium bodied with hard mouthfeel. Simplistic somewhat papery hard crystal malt followed by, well, nothing at all. oh6gdx (8802), Vasa, Finland Jul 1, 2007 Bottled. Orange colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is citrusfruits, oranges mainly along with some spices ans hops. Flavour is fruity hops along with some bittering hops as well as slight grassyness. Very pleasantly brewn thing. alexanderj (2213), Chino Hills, California, USA Jun 24, 2007 Bottle; poured a clear light orange w/ minimal white head. Aroma was of roasted and caramel/toffee malt; a little grainy and nutty. Taste is ok, but after taste not so much. Caramel and toffee up front, but ending is of tea and citrus. obguthr (986), Poquoson, Virginia, USA Jun 20, 2007 Daffodil and honey aroma. Blurry amber pour with a thin, lacy, off-white head. Clover taste, not complex, but delicious. Slight hop finish. Suprisingly good. WeeHeavySD (2941), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA May 8, 2007 12 oz bottle bonus via trade with ? thanks. This is the organic pale bottle. Pous light orange with a a thin tan head that fades from a mountain. Light hoppy aroma. Taste isn’t half bad, though it has some weird after taste notes I can’t quite place. NeonLX (258), Wisconsin, USA Apr 30, 2007 On sale for $4.49/six pack at local Whole Foods store. Frankly, this was better than I expected. Pours a medium amber with smallish white head. Some lacing. Somewhat grainy, bready aroma with a little nuttiness. Not a lot of hops evident. First taste is caramel malt with some toffee & vanilla, a bit of nutiness in the background. Only mild, slightly citrusy hopping, Very drinkable beer and while it may not be up to hophead expecations, it’s still quite tasty. SSSteve (2047), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Apr 28, 2007 my first trip to whole foods. beer name has changed too "lamar street ""organic"" pale ale". i bought both labels because i thought they were different. now i’m angry. anyway, its pours a lightly hazy dark gold with a small head(wow....just like that hometown summer sunset!). hoppy aroma with hints of bready malt. flavor is lightly hoppy with notes of tea and a hint of bready malt. pretty standard stuff.
