Color ambrato/aranciato con un cappello di schiuma bianca persistente. Aroma fruttato che ricorda la marmellata di agrumi con un tocco di spezie, sentori di caramello e malto. Gusto dolce, fruttato con note di zucchero a velo e agrumi canditi. Liscia e setosa al palato, l’abv è ben mascherato e il corpo è più lieve dell’atteso (e sperato!). Riesce ad essere dolce e beverina senza essere stucchevole, buona birra natalizia!!

Draft @ Brassigaume 2012. Clear golden / amber with a white head. Smells of sweet marmalade, oranges, light nail polish, booze. Sweet marmalade taste, fruits, caramel, thick malts, jam, light nail polish, touch booze. I am not surprised by their description that this is their most alcoholic beer.. Oily, creamy. Raw, unpolished stuff and not very Belgian either but I certainly enjoyed it and further than that my appraisals don’t go.

Cuivrée léger, col fin beige.
Arôme malté caramel, fruité noir léger avec une note alcoolisé phénol-pomme, le tout laisse apparaitre des notes d’épices de noël.
Palais rappelle de suite ce côté festif, entre girofle, note herbacée presque de camomille et ce fini rappelant les pomme d’amour de part ce côté caramélisé. Pas mauvaise, mais garde cette impression que qcq chose manque pour mettre cette bière un peu plus haut.

Birra in versione 2011. Si presenta con un colore quasi ambrato, arancio direi, schiuma abbondante e persistente. Il suo sapore non si avvicina alle classiche birre natalizie ma punta dritto al genere delle strong ale, una birra veramente buona e assolutamente da provare

Bevuta in versione speciale 2011. Birra che supera le aspettative. Già dall’aspetto, bel colore ambrato con schiuma molto persistente. Anche se nasce come birra di natale, si sente chiaramente l’appartenenza alle belgian strong ale. Una piacevole sorpresa.

Ottima birra dall’aspetto chiaro tendente all’arancione. Bellissima schiuma molto corposa e conpatta che accompagna per tutta la bevuta. Gusto molto particolare, che, a mio parere tende ad uscire un po dal suo stile d’origine. Il risultato è un ottima birra da bere durante le festività natalizie con gli amici.

A hazed amber ale with a thick light moka head. In aroma, a herbal sweet malt aroma with light off notes. In mouth, a light sweet malt, oxidation, curacao, herbal, boring. Bottle at Mondial 2011, June 12 2011.

My Bottom Line:
Honeyed cereals and minty, herbal hops coalesce in this otherwise phenolic and lightly vegetal strong ale.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam the honeyed gold.
-The nose was sadly stale; surely not what the brewery intended.
-The mouthfeel and flavor profile was more reminiscent of a Heller Bock than a Belgian-style Strong Ale...
-Bready tones soften each sip.
-Both Lambrate bottles I’ve now had have not been of the caliber of the tap brews...
-The bubbly intensity helped drinkability.

Süßlich hellmalziger Geruch, leicht brennend, aromatisch. Fruchtig-hellmalziger Antrunk, hefig-hopfig, passend süßlich. Im Mittelteil leicht nach Kräutern, dann wieder eher hefig, fruchtig. Würziger Abgang (hell), angenehm. Aber als Winterbier... 10/10/10/9/9/10
