75cl bottle from Doemens. Pours a hazed, orange-golden colored body with an inch thick, dense, creamy and frothy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is minty with some licorice, but still has a nice, lightly sweetened malt backing. Touches of fruit and grain with a light yeastiness. Flavor is similar. Lightly sweetened and grainy malts with a light fruitiness, some yeast, and a nice minty licorice spice. A bit of a fennel note as this finishes clean and dry with a light fruity sweetness and bitterness. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium body moderately lively carbonation. Overall, a pretty cool beer. The minty licorice and fennel is pretty strong up front, but once this opens up a bit the light malt sweetness, yeastiness, and light fruitiness balances everything really well. I enjoyed this one a lot.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a cloudy golden with tiny impurities and a white head. Interesting spicy aroma, but impossible to pinpoint which - a slight licorice touch. Medium body, rich and fruity again with this spicy edge. Ends dry and bitter. Quite interesting really. 310312

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Hazy golden with a lasting white head. Aroma is sweet, malty and rather spicy - anise. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. I have no idea what Perilla is, but I’m guessing it smells somewhere along the lines of anise. 310312
