Porpora is an interesting Bock hopped with Styrian Golding, Perla and Cascade and dry hopped with Styrian Golding.
Lager in the Hopped Bock style. Bright red colour with ruby reflections. On the nose, caramel notes are neat and followed by clear herb notes from hoppers, finally surmounted by winy and dried fruit scents. It tastes of syruped fruit but it never becomes sickly, thanks to the perfect balance ensured by the hopper. As a whole, this beer has an extraordinary balance which makes it extremely easy to drink. 18°

Previously 7.8%.

Schiuma di media persistenza e birra dal colore molto intenso. Retrogusto amaro che perň svanisce dopo poco. Sentori di caramello che persistono in bocca a lungo.

Clear red brown beer, creamy light beige head, adhesive, pretty stable. Aroma: sweet mocha, sweet malts, bit nutty, brown sugar, a touch of yeast. MF: light carbon, full body, creamy texture. Taste: mohca, toast, caramel, fruity, plums, bitter hops. Aftertaste: mocha, grapefruit, toast, bit fruity, dry bitter ending, alcohol warming the throat. Good but not great beer.

Bottle @ ZZT’11 #2: Thanks to IluvatarMilan: Creamy head on top of a light hazy ruby colored beer. Smell barleys, rose hips, caramel and some hops. Taste barleys, raisin, good bitter, toasted malts, hops, light spicy/herby and darker ingredients. Good bitter hop barley dark fruit herby aftertaste. Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, full body and a creamy texture. I liked this one!

Bottle thanks to Illuvatarmilan at ‘Zieke Zuiden Tasting II’. Hazy red color, no head, just a small white lacing. Smell sweet, slightly bitter but mostly like a weak barleywine. Taste caramel and sweet. Decent carbo, medium body. (Note: best before March 2010)

Scopey (11797) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 8, 2011
Bottle at GBBF 2011, with Ken and Leighton. It pours dark ruby brown, with a massive, foamy off-white head. The nose is brown bread, dark fruit, sweet malt and caramel. The taste is caramel, toffee, raisin, leather, chocolate, grass, light malt vinegar and brown sugar. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A very drinkable dunkler bock.

Bottle at GBBF 2011, Day 1, shared with Ken and Paul. Pours cloudy ruby with a big, off-white head. Nose holds some toast and dark fruits. Really damn sweet flavor, loads of dark fruit, toast, mild leaves and brown sugar. Slight dough and yeast. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Just damn sweet in the finish with notes of toast and fruit. Really damn tasty. This is what I expect from a dunkler bock.
