Porpora is an interesting Bock hopped with Styrian Golding, Perla and Cascade and dry hopped with Styrian Golding.
Lager in the Hopped Bock style. Bright red colour with ruby reflections. On the nose, caramel notes are neat and followed by clear herb notes from hoppers, finally surmounted by winy and dried fruit scents. It tastes of syruped fruit but it never becomes sickly, thanks to the perfect balance ensured by the hopper. As a whole, this beer has an extraordinary balance which makes it extremely easy to drink. 18°

On tap at Copenhagen Beerfestival. It serves a next to clear body, topped by a lasting, dense, creamy, beige head leaving lacings. Quite subtle hop aroma, citrus and resin, sort of leaving the malts in the background. Really pleasant even though it’s weak. Sweet and hoppy flavor blending the fruity, citrusy hops nicely with the malts. Some alcohol tasted too. Full-bodied and warming mouthfeel. Long finish with malts and hops blending nicely. At first sniff and sip, it’s a rather uninteresting beer, but after a little while, it gets to show what it’s made of, and it’s nice. Not the typical bock maybe, but nice. (090516)

From tap@Københavnske Øldage 2009. Rough-laced, lasting offwhite head. Pale amber colored body. Inviting caramellish malt aroma, a faint fruitiness and touch of spices. Taste is dryish malty, mild spicy and has a nice underlying fruitiness; raisins and plums. Subtle hop bitterness Creamy mouthfeel, strong body. Clean malty and suitable mild hoppy ending. A well-crafted and elegant Bock.
