From tap at the brewpub. Pours cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is fruity adn estery. Mild citric and crisp fruity. Simple yeasty and fruity finish. Wellmade for the style - not my kind of style.

Draught, 5% at the brewpub. Weak banana aroma. Cloudy yellow colour. Small stable white head. The flavour has some banana, a little rough bitterness. Tastes like a real German wheat beer.

On tap @ L’Amere A Boire. Hazed, milky golden pour with white foam. Kind of a lemony aroma with some bread, banana, and walnut. Mild yeast and citrus. Flavor is a little on the sweet side. Kind of lemony, too. A lot of banana bread and some citrus peel. Mild yeast. Okay, a little too tangy, but still pretty nice.

Hazy golden weizen with a thin white head. Typical bubblegum aroma, with lots of fruity esters, a bit veering on chemical. In mouth, fresh wheat with bananas, berries, and watermelon. Light and fresh!

Draft... Murky, straw-colored ale with a small, creamy, white head. Excellent retention. The soapy nose is of banana, light clove, green apple and bubblegum. All the usual suspects in the well-balanced flavor. Light-bodied and watery with medium carbonation. Finishes citrusy and spicy. I dislike the style, but this really isn’t even a quality example of it.

Cloudy appearance, good head.Good yeasty and spice(clove) and fruit (bannana) aroma, well carbonated. German yeast. Medium mouthfeel, although not as creamy as would be expected. Drying finish.

Pale golden yellow pour. Tight head. The aroma is spicy and fruity. Leans more clove than banana with a touch of other spice as well. Light bodied. Wheat doesn’t really come through. It doesn’t totally work for me. Phenolic and thin.

UPDATED: MAY 23, 2007 The Lure:
Boastful yeast generously transmitting cloves and banana sweetness. Some citrus undertones watch amazed, this is very expressive. Herbal hops tend to show up more and more.

The Festivities:
Verbose yeastiness lathers multiple banana coats onto the malty roundness. Starfruit shine dimly through the fruity sweetness, being overcome only towards the end. Sometimes a textbook example, sometimes a hoppier version of the style. Batches vary and I prefer the milder hopped versions.

Driving straight will get you far.

Hazy pastel pale yellow body with a small white head. Light lemony citrus flavour with a sweet-tart wheaty bite. Similar aroma. Palate is a bit thin. Seems more like every other Quebec blanche than it does a German Hefe. I had high hopes and was disappointed.
