COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In German-speaking Switzerland, a müesli indicates a complete cereal dish. In the United Kingdom, one brews a beer with the same satisfying properties. This almost opaque beer was in the beginning been used for the women who nursed because of her nutritive virtues. Other times, other manners, no need to nurse to appreciate the richness of this stout. The addition of oats confers a velvety texture to it and the cleverly mixes malts makes a creamy, rich and complex ale.

On tap at the brewpub. Nice rich dark brown-black pour with creamy brown head. Aroma of sweet milk chocolate but with a robust roasty background, very nice. Taste is chocolaty and sweet but ends in a long balanced roasty bitterness. Palate is creamy. Really good stout.

Thick sweet cocoa and chocolate with a touch of roasted malt in the nose. Opaque black body is topped by a fine bubbled tan head that recedes to a thin cover and leaves plenty of lace. Biscuity and toasty malts underlie the cocoa sweetness. Dark malt character is subdued and bitterness is restrained and just enough to keep all that malt sweetness in hand so that it is not cloying. Plenty of fruity esters round out the flavour. Clean and fresh medium body with lightly prickly long lasting carbonation. Refreshing even in the extreme humidity of Grand Prix week end. Sampled on tap at the brewpub.

On tap at L’Amere a Boire. Pours a jet black with brown highlights and a thick brown head. Aromas are all roast with a touch of caramel. Light and creamy, with more roast coming through. Finishes with a light bitterness and a touch more sweetness.

Draft. Pours a black body with an off white head. Malty dark chocolate tones, caramel, oysters, oily and slick with ink notes. Malty and chewy light oak, burnt chocolate and roast y bitterness. A hint of licorice and oatmeal cookies. Solid offering.

Un peu mince pour une stout à l’avoine. Note de café et de caramel dominante. Rafraichissante.

The pour reveals a pitch black color with small brown highlights and a thin light brown head. Solid aroma of chocolate, roasted malt and oatmeal. Very good flavor of chocolate, roasted malt and oatmeal. The body is a bit thin for my liking, the texture is silky and the carbonation is moderate. Good stuff.

tap on the premises. very dark brown with a creamy light beige head, good retention and sticky lacing. cappucino - probably the closest i’ve ever tasted, chocolate, minerals, hint of molasses - barely enough sugar to call it a sweet stout, bitter grass, some resin. low carbonation, medium body - oily, velvety and stout, slightly mineral and bitter coffee finish. nice one again.
