UPDATED: AUG 11, 2009 Cask (Gallows Bird, Espoo, Kekri 2006). (see below for bottle rate) Smells junipery, sweet and fruity. Tastes a bit light as a beer, the flavour is dominated by over-ripe bananas.
330ml bottle. Pumpkin colour, quickly dissipating head. Juniper and lightly roasted malt on the nose, but that fades and becomes a bland lageryness. Same eith the taste, which leaves little finish. Nowhere as good as the draught. (4-2-4-2-8=2.0)
rerate: 330ml bottle. (Sweeter, malts a touch plasticky. Juniper pleasant but very low in the mix. Mostly malty. (4-3-5-2-9=2.3)

Aroma is somewhat sour with juniper, sorbus and bready malt. Flavour is odd with bready malt, sorbus, some juniper and floral notes. Quite odd but not bad anyway.

UPDATED: JAN 31, 2013 330 ml bottle. L2. BB 2/13. (K-Citymarket) Espoo, Finland.
Dark mahogany colour with small frothy white head. Malty aroma with sugary sweetness, alcohol and mild berry notes. Sweetish malty flavour with lots of spices and some juniper (could be stronger though). Thinnish and slightly watery. Sweetness in aftertaste.

UPDATED: DEC 22, 2007 Looks good, smells horrible, tastes funky. Nose has some very unpleasant skunkiness, like butter gone bad. Taste has the same funkiness. I couldn’t get over the fact that it just smelled and tasted like a dated butter. Mouthfeel was pleasant and there were some underlaying goodness too, I just didn’t get there yet. Re-rate (original 1.6): The previous bottle must’ve been a bad one or my palate just wasn’t ready for it. Had another and I enjoyed it very much. There is some ryeish "skunkiness" to it, but overall feel is nicely fresh and balanced with a rye twist. It’s very fresh when cold, propably due to juniper, which is otherwise quite subtly present. Actually a very refreshing beer, if not a bit thin. I would like to see this with a bit more body.

(Draught at Hilpeä Hauki, Helsinki) Poured amber and clear with small and white head. Aroma contained malts and juniper - mildly. Palate was quite light bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, juniper, lightly sweetness, hint of fuitiness and bitterness. Aftertaste contained malts, juniper and bitterness.

Hazy amber, disappearing soapy head. Nose is juniper & wood in general, earth, little banana spiciness and caramel malts. Interesting sour, stomach acidy flavor, though without the noble lambic complexity. Earth and slight yeast with a little smoky, dry woody finish. Low carbonation. This one has changed totally from my last tasting, and it’s the strangest thing I’ve had in a while.
