Gusler (2656), Tucson, Arizona, USA Nov 14, 2007 The beer pours a clear amber from the 33oml bottle, head is smallish, evaporates quickly, leaving a patchy bit of lace. Nose is sweet, earthy with a musty aroma, start is quite sweet, top is medium in feel. Finish is flat, sweet, dry, and different. First of this style I have tried, drinkable, 7 percent ABV, do not quite know what to make of this beer.
Angeloregon (1549), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 21, 2008 From a bottle--Poured a hazed murky sienna-orange-amber body. Low carbonation with next to no head. Lots of sweet residual maltiness. Fruity, mildly cloying and a little hard to palate. Started off interesting but ended not so quaffable. yespr (5611), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jul 17, 2008 RBESG2008: 33 cL bottle as Kataja IVB. Pours hazy orange to brown with a lacing white head. Light alcohol, malt and mild spiced aroma. Flavour is citric and malty/cornish. Mild spiced. Finish is spiced and lingering citric. Infected I assume. Doggythedog (921), Split, Croatia Jul 16, 2008 RBESG08 grand tasting Dark red body. Sweet perfumey nose, red fruits... a bit roasty (?!) and oily. Sourish and sweet yoghurty taste, malty funky. Infected probably... PhillyBeer2112 (1818), Orange Park, Florida, USA Jul 10, 2008 Cloudy reddish copper color, no head, just a few bubbles. Cherry out aroma, bready malts. Flavor is def weird. Flat, no carbonation. Light palate. Lightly tart, a range of funkiness that is very difficult to describe. Finish hints at multi-grain bread. Vague spicy/herbal character. Neat and I’m glad I tried it but I can’t say I actually liked it much. ekstedt (1740), Göteborg, Sweden Jul 8, 2008 Sampled at the RBESG08 grand tasting. Hazy mahogny, medium off-white head. Toffeish and cidery, quite sour. Infected?
