On handpull, a clear amber with a slightly yellowish head. A light malty aroma. A light mouthfeel as well, a bit tart with a gentle hop bitterness.

Draught at the brewery January 10, 2005: Aroma of malt, grain, chocolate, burning, toasting, nuts, leaves, tar, and a bit of hops. Poured amber in color with a large, lasting, creamy off-white head. Excellent lacing. Clear. Moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Tasted of nuts, malt, toasting, and some bitter hops. Light body. Thin texture. Average carbonation. Chalky, bitter finish. This was still being called "red rose" when I had it. It was not red.

On draft as the Celtic Rose. One of my least favorite. I didn’t really pick up of much as it was fairly bland. The flavor I did pick up fruit and caramel malt.

I asume this is the Celtic Rose they have on tap at the brewery... very solid beer, somewhat standard amber ale, nothing to be too excited about. A deep red color, not much hop, but a good bit of standard red malt flavour - kind of an amped up version of Killians.

Re-named Red Rose Ale, on tap at the brewery. A nice amber/copper color. Some hop in the nose, but not much. Nice head that leaves a good lace. Not really outstanding in any way, but just a very nice, drinkable ale.

on tap-pours a thin white head and gold/amber color. Aroma is sweet malt, light fruit-apple. Taste is sweet malt, light fruit-apple, secondary hops. OK carbonation.

Not a very impressive amber ale, too light in the body, not offering enough in the flavor department, light amber color with a bit of an orange hue, very thin in the nose as well, only a small hint of caramel malt with maybe a little orange peel, light flavors of sweet malt, more orange & some hints of other fruits, malty finish

Draft at the brewpub, July 2006. A dark orange beer with a beige head. The aroma is sweet with some fruity notes - especially oranges. The flavor is sweet with notes of berries - especially strawberries, but also with notes of mango, and a perfumy touch. The end is dry with a light woody touch.
