COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular. Also available bottled.
Lancaster Blonde is a uniquely vivid golden bitter. Blonde has been designed to offer a quality cask conditioned ale to drinkers seeking a pale beer with real taste and aromatic impact. This most stylish and contemporary beer is crafted from pale Maris Otter Malt and carefully combined with Germanic style Munich Malt. The slightly citrus and delicate earthy aromas are created by a combination of First Gold and imported Saaz hops. The initial bitterness is followed by a delightful mouth feel culminating with a long dry finish

50cl bottle. Poured clear golden with a frothy white head. Aroma has citrus, flowery hops and some honey sweetness. Flavor has light grassyness, sweetness (honey) and light bitterness, floral. Average.

5 On pouring, it’s nicely citrussy, but in the glass that’s quite subdued, and there’s not much to it. Perhaps a touch of liver.
3+ Pale, slightly hazy, decent frothy white head with reasonable persistence.
6- Simple classic golden ale retronasals. Lots of honey. Alas chalky and minerally too.
3 Slightly sweet palate, but a bit watery. Finish only gently bitter, a little dry and resiny. Late finish a bit citrussy again.
11 A bit uninspired and dull. Nothing technically wrong with it though.

Tasted this in the Last Post, Paisley (JDW) in November 2009. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear gold in colour with a thin white head. Dusty lemon hops in the short aroma. Thin resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a strong citric flavour of grapefruit, lemon peel and gooseberry. Strong dusty hop resins impart a dry astringency to the aftertaste. Finish is again dry and citrusy. Another ok Golden Ale to join the plethora of others.

Good aroma, standard "golden" ale taste. Easy to drink. Maybe some citrus in it. Ok beer

From Nuneaton Asda. In bottle, none of the proclaimed grapefruit and elderflower whatsoever; rather a wash of lightly buttered pine and soft northern stoniness. Almost still with hushed carbonation and a tang of mineral edge, some chlorine- certainly on the nose. The Saaz is unmistakable but there’s aniseed in there too, maybe from the English. Clear gold; lacy at first, thin white head. Boring as hell but clean and drinkable with an unsophisticated pine needle flavour that keeps you sipping. Alright.

On cask at The Haymarket. Pours a blonde colour with a thick white head. Aroma of caramel, banana and cloves. Similar flavours with a little lemon, banana smoothie, barley and caramel again. Nice creamy mouth-feel.

Flaske 0,5l fra Kilpishalli. Skibotn 8 Okt 11. Lys gylden. Gulskjær. Høyt kremaktig skum med en markert topp. Mye bobler på glasset. Svakt fruktig aroma. Litt mandler. Sammensatt fruktig smak. Aprikos i forgrunnen. Litt fersken. Smaken litt vassen med ei tydelig tørr avslutning. Godt butikkøl.
