Ungstrup (10432), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jan 13, 2007 Draft at the brewpub, July 2006. An orange golden beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of malt, and hints of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with light notes of hops and citrus, leading to a slighlty bitter end. The mouthfeel is very smooth. hopdog (4201), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 27, 2007 On tap. Poured a deeper orange color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of bread, citrus, and caramel. Tastes follow suit with a light fruitiness. Thinner body. DocLock (3939), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 10, 2006 Draft at Malvern Brew Fest. Bill Moore is now brewing at Lancaster, and Bill is known as a lager guy. I had an opportunity to chat with him at this fest, and I am very excited to try his beers as he brews them. His Awesome Ale recipe is one of my favorite APAs ever. This is one of his flagship recipes. It is dark straw colored, with some aroma notes of pale malt, honey, hops, and slight citrus. The flavor is bold and complex for a lager, with honey maltiness up front giving way to a bready fruity element at the finish. acrdz (3892), Pennsylvania, USA Apr 19, 2008 Pint @ Lancaster Harrisburg. Orange copper colored body. Slick, wet palate, basic flavors of cracked barley, sweet caramel malt, a touch of brown sugar and rye, similar smell. Nothing spectacular, somewhat simple, and a little coarse/grainy, which I don’t like so much in Vienna. Tasted really similar to the Spring Bock. JoeMcPhee (3466), Jackson Heights, New York, USA May 12, 2008 Tap at the brewpub as the Festbier. Pale amber beer with a lightly flowery aroma. Soft sweetness as well. A little bit dusty and a little bit bland. Straw-like malts and some lingering floral hops. It seems a bit too similar to many of their other lagers.
