COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This formidable India Pale Ale has a hop aroma that demands attention. The bold, citrus hop flavor is balanced by a dry malt character making this refreshing ale a true classic.

Superb, earthy amber/brown color with a few particles and foamy head/lacing. Aroma a bit overpowered by candied malt, but there is also some hop in there too. I also got malt first and foremost on the taste. Comes off more like a hoppy Bock than an IPA. Smooth, but a little thin/flat. It is not bad, but there are definitely better IPAs out there.

On tap at brewery. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is citrus and pine with floral notes. Light malt body with citrus flavor up front and finishing with some pine bitterness. Solid IPA.

Draft. Clear dark golden. Piney hop aroma. Taster is bitter pine up front then more grassy spicy herbal through the finish. Light malt but present. Nice on style IPA.

Such discourse. When I see HOP HOG IPA, I donít want a malty backbone. But thatís how it is. Not a bad beer and a bit hoppier than the other crap Iíve had that called itself IPA or IIPA or Double IPA. Get your recipes together. you all make the same beer that tastes like it all came from the same malt mulch. This beer was just OK. I donít expect to find a good beer in this area.

It pours dark golden with a decent orange hue. It has an off white moderate head with moderate lacing. Overall it is slightly cloudy. It has aromas of grass, bread, pine, and citrus. There are flavors of grass, toast, pine, a hint of floral and hints of citrus. It has a light-moderate feel to it with a low-moderate bitter finish. Overall, it is an easy drinking ale that is not quite aromatic as most IPAís or bitter.

Bottle at the hotel during Guardian Life opening in Bethlehem PA. Flowery hop aroma with pieapple, apricot, and pine notes. Sweet and malty, dry piney finish. Fresh and bright tasting.

Deep copper pour with a thin soapy white head and thick bands of lacing .... Aroma of citrusy grapefruit, orange, light floral and piney hops with a caramel malt as well .... Taste is of caramel and biscuity malts, citrusy hops grapefruits/orange mostly ... Bitter and dry hopped on the back end with more malt character as well .... Finish is clean and dry hopped with bitter and caramel malt ..... Decent sessionable solid bodied IPA

Lancaster may not be a West Coast Hop Headís dream at 60 IBUs, but remember that itís "Dutch" country, which translates into Deutsch (Deutschland/Germany). It has more of a malt backbone, but it packs an ABV of 7%, which is stronger than Victory Hop Devil or Dogfish 60 MIN IPA. It is a solid beer with a good appearance, nose, taste, and mouth feel; however itís not going to give you that hop punch. I would give it a try, especially if youíre transiting into a IPA from a lager or pilsner dominated offering. Cheers!
