1.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Without a doubt the worst ipa I’ve ever sampled. This is a very heavy, very malty, disgustingly sweet beer without much hop character. This is a very poor example of an ipa. Hop Hog? They need to change the name to Malt Hog. IPA’s should be hoppy and bitter not sweet and malty.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sweet malty aroma and a golden hazy pour with little head. Lots of malt flavor for an IPA and it has a sweet caramel malt finish. Not what I expected but good nevertheless.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – Pours a nice orange amber color with a one finger orange tinted head. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading over time to give lighter level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell- The aroma is sweet of tropical fruits of tangerine and mango with other fruit aromas of a light apple and some other sweeter notes of caramel. Mixed with these sweeter aromas is a citrus hop aroma of a grapefruit as well as light lemon smell and some breadier aromas.
Taste – The taste starts out with a bready and malty flavor with flavors of a light fruit flavor. The fruit was largely of an orange and pear flavor upfront with some lighter fruit flavors of apricot. As the flavor advances hop flavors of a grapefruit nature greet the tongue. The grapefruit remains relatively constant throughout and is joined by some more hop flavors. The hop flavors that come at the end are of a sour lemon flavor as well as some lighter herbal flavors. At the end the mix of fruit, citrus, bready and hop flavors leaves a lightly bitter sour flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the slightly thinner side with a carbonation level that is fairly average overall. Not the best feel for the style in my opinion as it is slightly too light to accentuate the relatively moderate hoppier flavors, although even with this being so, it was OK for the more sour lemon flavors of the beer, keeping them from becoming too overpowering.
Overall –Nothing too special here. The beer was not quite hoppy enough and had a little too much sourness.

An IPA that is past its prime. Not much if anything on the nose. Some lemon? Golden pour from draft, good bit of biscuity malt, with a bit of hop at the end. Wet pine?

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: It has a straight up amber body with a tall just off white head. It’s head fades quickly to just a thin wispy layer and lacing is minimal.
Smell: The aroma has a sweet honey and bread like grain character with a touch of candy like sweetness and hint of orange blossom.
Taste / Palate: It’s flavor leans more on the sweet malty side and it matches the aroma note for note. As an IPA this is way out of character. To me it feels more like a nice easy drinking pale ale.
