UPDATED: OCT 27, 2015 4 ounce taster at brewdo. Pours a dark rich brown with mocha colored head. Notes of coffee and roasted nuts on nose with maybe a touch of cocoa. Taste follows suit, but it felt like it was missing the creaminess I expect as mouthfeel from a milk stout. 10/26/15 - re-rated from bottle. Bottle has that creamy mouthfeel I thought was missing from taster. Rating increased accordingly.

Pours an opaque, very dark brown with a lovely, fluffy, tan-brown head. Moderately dark roasted malt on the nose with some lactose and a note of plastic on the nose. Smooth, nearly unassuming palate. Nutty, sorghum, unflavored cocoa, and lactose flavors.

[on tap at Local, PHI airport] Coffee with milk aroma with some light vanilla roasted barley notes and licorice accents. Clear garnet-black that is nearly opaque under a lacy, thin white patch. Delicate coffee and vanilla flavour with just a hint of hops flavour and a subtle bitterness that is just enough for balance. Light body and leaning towards crisp, medium carbonation.

Bottle from unknown, via Dan S. Pours a dark black, little to no tan head. Aroma slightly roasty, milk chocolate, some coffee. Body medium roasty, some sweetness and chocolate malt. Not bad, but I prefer Split Shot.

Nice! Very bitter and toasty. Pours black with great head and lacing. Mocha head. Quite a bitter finish and lactose adds texture but not a huge element to aroma. Bottle.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Appearance: The body has a dark black look with a a one inch thick off white head. The head holds on well and makes some nice lacing. Smell: The aroma has nice toasted/roasted maltiness and mild sweetness. Taste / Palate: The flavor is nicely balanced with mellow toasded and roasted maltiness. It has a nice molasses like sweetness and equally balanced bitterness. It’s palate is a light medium and very drinkable.

Pours almost black with quick disappearing, khaki head. Smells basically like chocolate and roasted coffee note. Tastes like dark chocolate, coffee, yum. Palate's a bit light for me. Overall, it was just ok, the taste was more like a Porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours deep brown into a shaker. Mocha head with good retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Ozone and chocolate aromas. Sweet and smooth with chocolate and espresso front to back turning dry with an earthy bitter finish.

Transfer from BA reviewed 1-29-12 - Poured from bottle into pint glass. Appearance – Pours a deep dark brown, nearly black. The head is nearly on existent with no lacing at all. Smell – Dark chocolate and coffee are the first to be detected. The chocolate gains a bit of milky sweetness aroma as the time develops, with a bit of caramel mixed in. Taste – Roasty malts of chocolate and a little bit of coffee first met the tongue. It sweetens a bit in the middle of the taste profile, going more towards a milk chocolate like flavor. This however is soon lost to a, actually, quite bitter flavor which develops at the end; still chocolate, but a very bitter chocolate. Mouthfeel – Very moderate in body and in carbonation. Easy drinking and fairly normal. Nothing too special. Overall – I was expecting a bit more from this brew, as I was hoping form something with more potency in flavor/aroma. I really didn’t get much of the lactose and sweetness flavoring in their, which was a bit disappointing.

Bottle. Poured black with a tan head. Big cocoa aroma. Taste was good, chocolate, roasted malt and a pit of burnt sugar. It was just a bit thin on the palate though. Not too bad. I would buy it again if I could get it in Ohio.
