COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We are proud offer one of the few surviving examples of this traditional English style sweet stout. A bold, dark ale bursting with roasted barley dryness and mellowed by hints of chocolate and coffee.

Pours dark brown with a thin brownish head. Mild carbonation. Aroma is very chocolatey, slightly woody, dry, vanilla. Flavor is smooth, sweet chocolate, roasty, bread, a hint of juniper. No lacing. Its simple and not extravagant. This beer was a gift and I’m not sure what it sells for. If it’s no more than 3 or 4 bucks, I’d say this is worth buying.

Pours cola brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, and lactose. Chocolate flavor with roasted malt, and coffee. Really good beer!

The aroma is very pleasantly full of chocolate notes. It pours a deep dark brown with a thin tan head that does not leave lacing. The taste explodes with chocolate in the front but unfortunately fizzles out just a bit at the finish. The beer is velvety smooth. It’s almost like drinking dark chocolate. It’s a very good beer but could have been great had it just added a little flavor to the finish. Nevertheless, well done!

Inky black, a little oily appearance, small brown head. Aroma is very light, some roasted malts, chocolate, nuts, vanilla. Very nice bitter with just a little sour. Flavors of coffee, chocolate, vanilla, raisin or other dark fruits. Finish is sour coffee.

Draft. Deep black, tall tan head. Thick, creamy, loads of chocolate, a little coffee. Very good palate... All around solid beer.

Bottle. Appearance: very dark brown/black with frothy khaki head. Aroma: sweet milk chocolate and roasted malts...very nice. Taste: chocolate and roasted malts but much less sweet than the nose, touch of the floral hop notes in the middle ending like mocha coffee. Mouthfeel: thin for stout but still creamy with very little carbonation. Overall: this is a solid sweet stout style beer. Great aroma and taste. Much better than, but like a Guinness with a touch of mocha.

Pours pitch black with lasting caramel head. aroma is sweet. Previous rate about the possibility of nutella is dead on. Tastes as good as it looks. Much lighter to drink than I initially thought. Will definitely bs having another. Maybe mixed with the lancaster strawberry wheat!

Nitro draft. Very dark brown pour with a big fizzy head (due to the nitro) that died pretty quickly. Tastes like a bubbly creamy Greek/Turkish coffee. Dark roasted coffee grounds with some powdery vanilla notes. Maybe some Nutella in there. Nice but not overly complicated and a bit thin. Good dry smooth finish. Not the best stout, but in the top half.

Poured into my cigar city snifter. Dark black with a paper thin head that slowly dissipates. Aroma of very creamy coffee. Taste follows the nose, really tasty, smooth and creamy. This is what I look for in a milk stout, sweet, smooth and creamy with roasted coffee notes. Great beer!

bottle, Beer of the Month Club, shared at a tasting in our place. Pours black, dark tan - light brown head. Smells like dark chocolate milk with a little roast. Delicately bitter but rather bland. Soft, almost not carbonated, very light body.
