We are proud offer one of the few surviving examples of this traditional English style sweet stout. A bold, dark ale bursting with roasted barley dryness and mellowed by hints of chocolate and coffee.

Black body with a tan head. Aroma promises heavily roasted coffee beans and dark chocolate, and the flavor profile delivers. Creamy milk chocolate backed up with espresso and roasted malt. Body is thick, moderately creamy, and chewy, Nice.

Tastes like chocolate milk, hint coffee and a slight burnt flavor as well. Smooth as a baby’s ass. Very good.

Always love Lancaster Milk Stout - Actually the reason I visited the brew pub. It was amazing as usual and yes, I did take two growlers home with me. FYI the draft tastes better than the bottle

Pours a jet black color and holds a nice creamy head. There is some head retention, but it fades pretty quickly. Smells like roasted malt and burnt chocolate. Tastes like coffee and cocoa, with a bit of a nutty finish. A pretty solid stout here.

The smell is milk chocolate, the look is a thin very light brown head and dark body, the taste is bitter coffee and bitter chocolate, not what I was looking for. Almost no sweetness. Very disappointing taste.

From a bottle shared at home. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of milk chocolate. Flavors of cocoa and some coffee notes. Smooth roast finish.

Good. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is burnt chocolate and coffee. Medium body, finishes with wet cardboard and coffee notes.

12 oz. bottle poured at my brothers in Methuen, MA. Pours black with a tan head that dies quickly. At first sniff I thought I smelled manure (barnyard?) but after all I could discern was coffee. Little carbonation and a nice coffee finish. This is a very drinkable beer.

Sehr dunkel. Geruch nach Schokolade, ein bisschen Zigarettenasche. Im Mund nur leicht süß. Recht bitter. Die Ladung selber ist dominiert von Schokolade und Asche. Könnte komplexer sein.

Kräftiger Geruch nach Kaffee und etwas Schokolade. Im Geschmack eher erdig. Weder wirklich trocken noch besonders süß.

APPEARANCE – Dark brown. A couple shades light of black. Looks tasty, and fairly thin for a milk stout. Very thin head is gone in a flash with limited lacing. NOSE – immediate scents of chocolate and roasty goodness. Chocolate is on the lighter side, and very appetizing. FLAVOR – More light chocolaty flavors on the sip, that stick around for quite a while afterward. Tastes closer to an oatmeal stout than milk stout to me, but I guess that’s cutting it pretty fine.
