COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This smooth brew ushers in Autumn with an invitingly tawny color complemented by an assertive maltiness. A noble crispness from German and Czech hops completes this very traditional lager-style beer.

12oz bottle from Wegman’s in State College, PA. Man, they have some shit going down there right now. Anyways...this pours a crystal clear, copper-gold colored body with a finger-width, fairly dense and frothy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is bready with a moderate caramel sweetness and a touch of toast, earthy hops, and fruit. Flavor is similar. Somewhat fruity with a light, bready caramel sweetness up front before some toast comes in. Finishes with a light earth and toast that dries with a touch of caramel sweetness before leaving a medium length aftertaste. Medium-light body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a decent Oktoberfest. Somewhat sweet and bready with a light toast and earth. Nothing special, but not bad.

12 oz. bottle purchased @ Beer Heaven. Color is nearly clear amber without much head or retention. Nose is sweet caramel and has a grainy element. Taste has sweet caramel grains with an Earthy, dank hop. Has a bit of nuttiness. Mouthfeel / texture are a bit syrupy. Medium body for the style with soft carbonation. Overall, if you like this style sweet, here is a decent one.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle from Wegmans Leesburg. It pours a clear amber color with a slight off-white head. The nose has hints of toast, caramel, and apple. The flavor is light, slightly fruity and has toasted malt notes. There is a lingering bitterness on the back end. Medium bodied. Serviceable.

From a bottle poured a light brown color with a fair amount of head. Light malty flavor with a quick finish.

KSBF07. Pour was amber in color, weak head. Aroma was woodsy (I got on a woodsy kick at this fest?), toasted caramel. The flavor was toasted caramel, light nuts, woodsy, and a weird spicey hoppy almost burnt type blended aftertaste, odd. Not a great example of the style.

Blah. A subpar Oktoberfest. I call it that because I live in PA and have a bias. Aroma was nil. Pour was a too light gold with a thin white ring for a head. Taste was like a vienna except not much malt. Not much anything for that matter.

Dark orange-amber body, thin off-white head, spotty lacing. Sweet caramel and bready malts. Faint florals and generic fruitiness. Medium to full bodied, mellow carbonation, sweet, rounded finish.

Average beer in every sense. Amber with a small head. aroma of bread. Malty sweet flavor with a hint of hops. Finishes well.

20081002 12oz bottle, Spirits RB. Basic copper color with creamy beige head that lingers. Aroma is full of diacetyl, some earthy hops. Nice eff, medium bodied. Pretty sweet, none of the spicy bite I’d hope for from either a lager or a marzen. Sub par.
