Bottle. Lactic lemon and barley malt aroma. Dark golden yellow with moderate head. Stale barley malt and lightly bitter citrus peel flavor. Mediocre.

Bottle. Bready caramel malt and lemon-grapefruit hops aroma. Hazy amber with a large off-white head. Follows the nose with bready caramel malt and lemony herbal hops flavor. Light body, soft carbonation.

FROTHINGSLOSH (4035) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 19, 2013
Sampled on draft this beer poured a very dark amber color with a large creamy yellow-tan head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was tangy and sweet grapefruit and lemon. The flavor was tangy and sweet with moderate grapefruit and lemon and a bready undertone. Medium length finish of grapefruit and lemon. Medium body. A bit subdued but pleasant.

12 oz bottle. Very nice, a :thicker" pale ale with a very nice nose. Tastes of honey, bread, biscuit and caramel. Fruity hint of melon with a touch of apple juice.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper body with a small one finger fizzy white head that fell to a thin wispy covering. The nose is a bit off for the style as far as my preferences go. There’s way too much crystal malt sweetness coming thru, covering up much of the hoppiness. What little hops do make themselves known, are just lightly floral with a touch of orange like citrus. The flavor doesn’t really do it for me either. Way too sweet with barely any perceptible bitterness. A light touch of tropical fruit from the hops on the back end. I generally don’t care for sweet versions of APA or IPAs. Light to medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Lingering sweet finish. A very poorly designed beer.

Pours golden amber from the bottle. Easygoing brew with nothing memorable in the hop profile or malts. You can tell it isn’t a microbrews, but so what? Won’t buy again.

boxofrane (1218) - pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 12, 2013
Bottle from Wegmans. Pours very clear copper with a small white head, light lacing. The aroma smells almost like a lager but has some light hop presence.. nothing very direct though. The taste does not have much hop character. There is a bit of a sweetness to it.. maybe a little citrus note. A little watery. Not big on this one.. much like the amish four grain.

I much prefer their older "pale ale" Amish Four Grain to this new one. The flavors are all muted, nothing pronounced about it. Mediocre.
