WISEGUY572 (1158), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA May 27, 2008 Light copper, almost no head, almost no lace, almost no nose other than the rye. Taste of rye and some sweetness, only a touch of bitterness. Thin in the mouth. After al the apparent negatives, it’s a nice enough beer, easy to drink, no obvious flaws. Wouldn’t buy another, but nothing to complain about. An extra point for being low alcohol ... nice in a lawn mower beer. This is definitely better than Red Hook Sun Rye.
BeerLS (20), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 28, 2008 Very malty, watery, thin and a little too sweet for me, some hops and citrus. Very Meh. keepersj12 (463), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA Oct 26, 2008 This is not a rye. There is no rye in the aroma or flavor. Very watery feel to it. I think they took their strawberry beer and took out the strawberries. Try Founders. mesperon (38), Jersey City, New Jersey, USA Oct 25, 2008 Pours dark amber with disappearing off-white head. Bready aroma with a bit of spiciness. Mouthfeel is full and slightly fizzy. Starts a little spicy on the tongue, A little bit of bitterness with an herby light malt. Finish is a little dry. Orangey hops come out as the beer warmed a little. Underwhelming overall. cazort (376), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 19, 2008 (On tap) This was I suppose typical for Lancaster Brewing Co: mediocre. While this beer doesn’t have many objectionable qualities, it’s generally weak in flavor: very bland, and too sweet. Creamy, a bit smooth. Fairly heavy. Boring. There are a lot of macros that I’d prefer to this one. Beerman6686 (816), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 30, 2008 Poured an orangish yellow color with a white head. Aroma was really sweet and malty with some caramel and rye showing through. Flavor was pretty bland, seemed just like apremium lager with a little biut more flavor, not really any rye flavor at all.
