Dorwart (1601), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA Jul 22, 2008 Decent white head of fine bubbles. Dry dusty aroma with some light bready malts, apricots and a bit of vanilla. Color is a bright copper. More bready malts, dry bitterness and some astringency. Finishes bitter and dry. An decent summertime brew.
LiebeBier (744), RIchmond, Virginia, USA Aug 24, 2008 Bottle - Amber colored beer with white head. Caramel malty aroma. The flavor is quite creamy with rye and malt flavor. It reminds me of a British bitter. moseslikesbeer (167), conestoga, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 17, 2008 bottle. Red color with thin head. aroma of rice or earthy nose. Taste of caramel and slight hops. Nice brew. The_Beer_God (2837), Newport News, Virginia, USA Aug 9, 2008 Bottle. Amber pour. Aroma is fruity, earthy with light caramel, rye and sweet malts. Taste is malty, semi-sweet, mild sourness/tartness, slightly hoppy, more earthiness and some soft grains. Rye is there but not overbearing. Body is medium with a creamy carbonation. Ends with more caramel, toasted and semi-sweet malts, soft earth and fruit and rye grains. The tartness fades here as well. Good stuff! Miver (390), WillowStreet, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 8, 2008 Draft in Lancaster. Poured amberish with a medium sized beige head. Aroma was a little earthy, caramel malts, and bready. Tastes of rye bread, earthy, caramel malts and little to no hop character. eh. smjohnst (132), , Pennsylvania, USA Aug 7, 2008 Wasn’t too impressed with this. It did have a nice darker color for a summer beer but it had almost a sour taste to it. Lancaster Brewing company is really hit or miss.
