acrdz (4095), Pennsylvania, USA May 8, 2008 Draft @ Frisco Grille. Pours crystal clear light amber. Faint sweetness to the nose, but overall it smells very plain and empty, with a light dusting of toast, some light rye, and some light, clean yeast, whatever is left. Flavor is moderately thick, a little “chunky” on the palate, with a really, really faint and subtle flavor of rye grain, cracked barley and toast. There’s not a lot of flavor showing up overall, and after a pint I was tired of the subtle coarseness that seemed to creep up. Nothing special.
jjpm74 (2694), Connecticut, USA Jul 7, 2008 Bottle courtesy of beerman6686. Pours copper with a white creamy head. Smells of rye, spice, yeasty, some citrus, fruity. Tastes of rye, some sweet caramel, earthy, some bitterness. Nice spicy finish. I’m not sure why this has such low marks as it is a good beer. jeremytoni (528), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Jun 30, 2008 From a bottle poured a nice amber color with a fair amount of head. Nice hoppy flavor with a good grainy tatse and a lingering finish. jason (1457), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 30, 2008 Draft. Clear amber body with thin head. Aroma is light grain - faint. Flavor is light grain and rye with a malty presence. The_Captain (230), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 28, 2008 Bottle in Lancaster - Poured a clear amber brown, small head that simmered away quickly, no real lacing. Grains and rye on the pallet with a little bit of pale bitterness. Malt smoothness that was rather nice. Pared well with ribs. Low-even carbonation dry finish. Elmowl (10), Annandale, New Jersey, USA Jun 27, 2008 Deep Golden color with thin head. Grainy aroma. Sweet malty and bready flavor with a somewhat bitter aftertaste. Relatively clean finish for a sweeter beer. Better than commercial beer; a passable summertime swill.
