Cask conditioned handpump Montagu Pyke London 09/04/14. A golden coloured beer with a white head and lace. A decent fruity beer. Definite raspberries which work with the European hops. Pretty good for this type of thing.

Cask at the Hope Tap, Reading. Gold with a thick white head and a moderate prickly fizz. Macro lagery taste up front, and then rose (or some flower, anyway!) fondant. There’s a bit of raspberry leaf in the aftertaste and some sherbert. Pretty much does what it says on the tin; not sure I like it, but it could have been an awful lot worse. Quite like the balance of the added flavours actually; they’re not too overwhelming. It’s just a shame they’ve been added to a poor base beer- that hint of macro lager keeps resurfacing.

Raspberry sweets in the flavour, with some burnt pastry and copper. Finish was astringently bitter, with some malt and a definite metallic edge.
