Draught at the brewery January 10, 2005: Aroma of malt, grain, chocolate, burning, toasting, nuts, leaves, tar, and a bit of hops. Poured amber in color with a large, lasting, creamy off-white head. Excellent lacing. Clear. Moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Tasted of nuts, malt, toasting, and some bitter hops. Light body. Thin texture. Average carbonation. Chalky, bitter finish. This was still being called "red rose" when I had it. It was not red.

On draft as the Celtic Rose. One of my least favorite. I didn’t really pick up of much as it was fairly bland. The flavor I did pick up fruit and caramel malt.

I asume this is the Celtic Rose they have on tap at the brewery... very solid beer, somewhat standard amber ale, nothing to be too excited about. A deep red color, not much hop, but a good bit of standard red malt flavour - kind of an amped up version of Killians.

Re-named Red Rose Ale, on tap at the brewery. A nice amber/copper color. Some hop in the nose, but not much. Nice head that leaves a good lace. Not really outstanding in any way, but just a very nice, drinkable ale.

on tap-pours a thin white head and gold/amber color. Aroma is sweet malt, light fruit-apple. Taste is sweet malt, light fruit-apple, secondary hops. OK carbonation.
