Bottle from an old BOTM club. Very sweet and syrupy, as these things often are. Too sweet. Didn’t resemble beer enough. Didn’t finish it. Too sweet.

Bottle. Poured mostly clear orangish with a white head. Nose is light fruit, wheat. Not much else. Taste is similarly straightforward mix of wheat and strawberry. Balance is pretty good on this beer, as the fruit isn’t too big. Overall, a decet fruit brew. Mouth is light with decent carbonation.

Not bad for a fruit beer, although these are generally not one of my favorite styles.

12oz bottle. Pours a hazy amber orange color with a short lived creamy white head. The aroma is mild strawberry and wheat malt. Light bodied with a fine mild carbonation, that is smooth. The flavor is wheat and light berries with a gentle hop bitterness. Not too overly fruity.

From Bottle.... First smell was good, Strawberry smell very strong. During drinking I couldn’t really taste the strawberry’s at all, the wheat was def. the overpowering flavor. The beer did go down smooth.

The ’subtle’ suggestion that the description mentions is actually pretty far from the mark. The aroma itself is very strongly strawberry influenced, and the flavor is so thick with it that you will find yourself trying to sift the seeds through your teeth (there are none, of course)! It is a fairly light beverage as a whole, but that works to its advantage. This is a brew that will appeal to non-beer-drinkers and brewheads alike. It is not TOO intensely fruity to turn off the beer snobs, and it is so refreshly different from any other brews that newbies are bound to love it. I speak from experience. The Strawberry Wheat is the first beer I ever truly enjoyed, and opened my eyes to the entire world of craft brewing. That’s not to say that it is the finest brew ever constructed, but it does what it does darn well. I don’t think this is a beer to win competitions. Just a beer to win new people.

Pours a clear dark orange with small amount of fizzy white head. Aroma is very light but what is there reminds me of a strawberry daquari (sp?). Flavor is actually decent, especially compared to a lot of fruit beers. Medium mouthfeel flavor of course dominated by strawberries, but with a bit of creaminess, and a bit of watery lager taste. Reminds me in a way of a creamcicle. Strawberry flavor definitely a added extract and not the real thing. Worth a try though.

Some time ago I went to a beer tasting, and I kept going back to the Lancaster table to get some more of this beer. It was great off the tap. The bottles aren’t quite as good. Nice straw color, slightly bitter aroma. Soapy aftertaste is the only thing going against it - the flavor is of strawberries (the frozen kinds you get on ice cream, not the fresh kind) and a slightly musty standard witbier.
