UPDATED: JAN 7, 2007 03’ This is one of Lancs. crown jewels. Sweet malt flavor with lots of spices. HMMM, another reason to have another (like I need one). Love it!!! 04’ Unfortunately, doesn’t hold a candle to last year’s. My inside man told me that they brewed two batches this year. The first one was bottled and the second was kegged. I highly recommend the bottled version over the kegged.
07’ I haven’t liked this beer much since the first year it was made. :(

Poured a mahogany color with an off white small head. Spicy aroma of clove and malt. Malt, spice, chocolate and cinnamon with a round mouthfeel. Did not warm me up enough on this sub zero Philadelphia day.

(draft at brewery)
Dark ruby brown with a little weak dish sud head. Aroma is very light. Roasted malt is main scent with just a bit of spice, maybe nutmeg, and just a hint of hops. Flavor is great. Big toasty sweet malt taste and feel balanced very well well with a nice hop favor. Some mild spice flavors on the finish with a very nice alcohol warming. Great brew, easy to drink.

8.0% alcohol bite at first taste, with a slight sour yeast, roasted malt flavor. Nice bend of roasted malts and bitterness. Temperature was in the teens this weekend in Philly, perfect weather for a Winter Warmer.

(Tap at Which Brew, Easton, PA) Deep copper/brown color. Slight head. Subdued malty aroma, with slight ale/fruity character and notes of carmel. Full bodied malty brew with carmel flavor and well hidden alcohol. Overall, well made, yet does not have anything assertive about it that says 8.2%ABV.
