(12oz bottle) Quickly dissipating small beige head atop a clear dark copper body. Aroma is sweet, plum, caramel. Taste is quite sweet, plum, caramel, light tobacco in the finish. Full body with minimal carbonation. Definitely a sipping beer.

Bottle... Medium dark, clear, ruby ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Buttery, slightly acetic nose. Flavor is malty, but eventually ends up just slightly on the bitter side. Full-bodied and very creamy with medium carbonation. Lengthy, acetic, lightly bitter finish. It was a long beer day for me. Couldn’t bring myself to finish it before crashing.

12oz bottle shared courtesy of Josh. Poured a dark brown color with a smaller sized off white head. ARomas of roast, spices, chocolate and caramel. Flavors follow the same. Light alcohol in the finish (but I wouldn’t have guessed 9%).

12 oz bottle courtesy of hopdog… thanks. Very dark brown beer with a tint of orange/ruby. Off-white head. Aroma is quite nice, sweet dark bread, toast and sweet spices. Almonds and toasted nuts. There is also a light tart lactic note on the nose as well. Flavour is sweeter than the nose would suggest. Dark toast, sweet plums and a touch of bitter chocolate on the back. Warming alcohol and sweet cinnamon, nutmeg and anise. Nice brew.

Pours a transparent copper amber with a spotty-lacing frothy tan head. Aroma of toasty caramely malt with a hint of tart oranges and grain. Body starts with a fairly full, viscous, earthy maltiness and a smooth, slightly dark fruity finish. Fairly true to style, but not that interesting.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Cletus (6064) - Connecticut, USA - NOV 15, 2005
On draught at the brewpub. Pours a deep copper with an off white head. Smells of molasses and caramel. Taste is of maple syrup, some light chocolate elements and tarte fruit. Mouthfeel is thick, but the finish is light and disappointing.

This is an excellent WW. Ruby pour, with aroma of malt, toffee, caramel, fruit, and yes, tobacco. The aroma reminds me of Stoudt’s Fest. Tastes very complex, with hops, fruit (cherries, berries), oak, spice, pipe tobacco, and a warming finish. Just awesome.

Brown pour very light tan head. Incredibly malty aroma with lots of plums, brown sugar cookies. Flavor is sweet, malty, prunes, raisins. Not bad.
