I just had this beer AGAIN and after two years I must say - Yes, I am impressed.
An outstanding pour.
On tap at brewpub.
Perhaps their best offering.
A malt flavored old ale.
Dark, not heavy and lightly spiced.
Compares well to Sam Adams Winter Ale.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Sperine (172) - North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 9, 2013
UPDATED: APR 22, 2013 Enjoyed from bottle. Very surprised to see the rating so low on here, but I guess that’s the funny thing about opinions. Probably the best winter beer I enjoyed this season. Very smooth, perfect for the cold winter night up in Massachusetts where I drank this. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 jrodooo5 (500) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - DEC 9, 2012
The pour a dark caramel with very little head that does not leave lacing. The aroma is primarily of sweet malts. The taste pretty much follows the scent with the sweet malt really hitting home. There may be a hint of hop bitterness in the finish. Very solid and goes down quite smoothly at 9%. Very nice winter brew!
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 radio_nowhere (418) - Maryland, USA - DEC 1, 2012
Since I was in the area checked the brewpub out. On draft in a English pint glass. Rich chestnut brown color with tan head. Aroma was very malt rich; caramel, nuts and spices. Taste is malt richness and some warm alcohol. Heavy body is soft and smooth. A new LBC favorite next to their Milk Stout. Not bad.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 reberiii (105) - Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 24, 2012
Not a stout, but nice for people who like them. Deep, deep in color, malty in flavor, and malty on the nose.

Little aroma, pleasant raisin-like palate with caramel licorice flavor. Does not finish as well...
