An orange amber barley wine with a thin off white head. In aroma, pleasant vinous notes, with light smooth hops, pungeant yet balanced. In mouth, a decent barley wine with an oily sweet caramel malt with vinous characterm light hopping, quite nice. Tasted at CNY brewfest, Feb. 6 2010.

App.: Clear, very deep amber. Aroma: So much ripe banana, caramel, chocolate and nuts. Palate: Medium body, very still. Flav.: Tons of banana and overripe banana, chocolate, banana bread, buts, alcohol; somewhat sweet with limited bitterness.

Very different from the typical American Barleywine.

(cask @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Clear ruby pour with a soapy white head. Aroma is very sweet and malty with not much else. Some caramel notes as well. Flavor is very sweet and malty with a lot of hints of apple and caramel. Very mild hop flavor and surprisingly thin for a barley wine.
