Bottle. Dark brown beer, with light brown, mostly diminishing head. Very nice aroma, combination of dark fruits, honey, chocolate, roasted malts. Taste is pleasntly sweet with moderate bitter finish. Alcohol is not too evident.

EithCubes (5089) - New Jersey, USA - FEB 16, 2012
Bottle. Sweet and sticky caramel nose, dark rich malt with berry, light earth. Deep blood red turning dark brown, supports a fully tanned rocky head. Taste is rather (bone) dry, crisp and a little gritty, with earth and roast, dark toffee, caramel, faint berries. Light mineral content. Medium-full body is not syrupy, but crisp and a little airy. Light chocolate and nuts, even gentle prickling from the noble hops. Mouth feels like I’ve had some Dutch licorice, but not the double stuff. A very good one.

Koelschtrinker (11056) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 17, 2011
12/8/9/8/11/8

Skinnyviking (7235) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 1, 2010
Bottle. Medium high lasting creamy light brown head. Clear very dark red brown body. Roasted barley malt honey caramel aroma. Sweet roasted malt honey caramel cocoa flavor with little hops bitterness, low carbonation and a long sweet aftertaste. Alcohol well hidden by the sweetness.

thebeertourist (4904) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 4, 2009
Bottle. Dark red brown with a nice, beige head. Caramel and fruit aroma. Burnt caramel, hints of fruit, good balancing dryness from the roasted malts. Solid stuff.

fiulijn (15310) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 12, 2009
Dark mahogany color; small creamy head. It’s a monotonic beer, all centred on the dark caramel, but with a quite solid body (yet not sweet), and solid overall. Good.
