Bottle, 5.2% as Landwehr-Bräu Dunkel. Weak aroma, a little sewery. Clear dark brown colour. Small head. The flavour is quite mild, not that malty. Like a pale lager with a little dark malts at the end. Solid, but not exciting.

Deep copper-red color, steady small off-white, some lace. Burnt dark bread, sweet malts, grassy hops in the nose. Brown sugar, grassy hops, sweetness dries in the aftertaste. Not a dunkel, but a dark landbier.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Maria (9553) - Thisted, DENMARK - APR 22, 2010
It’s dark amber with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel, and so does the slightly sweet flavour. The finish is slightly dry with hints of straw.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 bierkoning (8941) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - SEP 6, 2006
Bottle, bought at the brewery, just named "dunkel". ABV is the same. malt and milk chocolate in the aroma. Thinnish but flavorful. Malt, cake dough, roasted malt, milk chocolate. More body and this dunkel would be world class. Now it is just a good beer.

Bottle: Amber coloured, mid-sized, slowly collapsing off-white head; delicate sweet-malty nose, with a touch of roasted malt and a metallic tinge; light sweet-bitter flavour, light bodied; a bit lingering bitter-malty finish with faint caramelly notes. Just another average Dunkel.......
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 MoritzF (7756) - Bochum, GERMANY - FEB 18, 2007
(bottle) Clear, chestnut colour with a slightly off-white foamy medium-sized head. Medium-sweet toasty, slightly bready malty aroma with notes of caramel, chocolate and marzipan. Moderately bitter, slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a for some parts fizzy, almost sharp carbonation. Toast-malty taste, light notes of caramel with herbal hops; dry, toast-malty, moderately bitter finish with notes of chocolate in the aftertaste. Okay, but not overly pleasant.

A Mes rate: 50cl bottle from Quinns. Sweetish milk chocolate with a slight hoppy bitterness. Slightly roasty and almost smokey. Clean mouthfeel. Just nothing that I can get excited about.
