rlgk (3239), Motala, Sweden Aug 9, 2008 Bottle. Very pale golden color, small head. Sweetish malt aroma, some spices and maybe some burnt sugar. Hops and sugar in flavor, maybe some roasted notes. Hoppy finish. kappldav123 (1174), Markkleeberg, Germany May 21, 2008 The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Tastes very hoppy and dry like a beer from northern Germany. I don’t really like it. Finish much too dry. raymondwave (808), Finland Apr 30, 2007 0.33 l bottle. Pretty mediocre pils. It’s all said below, except my sparkly head disappeared almost immediately. A bit cardboardy bitterness, which stays long in the aftertaste. Not hopeless by all means, but not the best example. (I think this beer is marked twice in the database as this and Landwehr-Brau Pilsener). pivnizub (4007), Porúří, Germany Feb 13, 2007 Bottle: Greenish-golden coloured, small creamy white layer; cardboardy, light grassy hoppy nose; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied; again:bitter-sweet finish. Nothing special, but pretty boring........ Fantomas23 (462), Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA Nov 26, 2006 Enjoyed at the Hotel Eisenhut in Rothenburg. My understanding is that the area surrounding Rothenburg is better known for its wines than its beers. But, like most every town in Germany, Rothenburg has a beer with its name. Nothing spectacular here for a Pils but it is always nice to get some local flavor.
