2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
50 cl bottle @ Timo A. Rated on 28.02.2011
Aroma is malty with honey, some berries and grain. Flavour is also rather malty with gluey notes, some berries, grain, hints of fruits, toffee and grassy hops. Heller bock is still not my favourite style.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
500 ml bottle. From biershop-bayern.de.
Clear pale golden colour with tiny white head.
Malty aroma with mild honey and grassy notes.
Flavour is unpleasant. Almond and honey sweetness, alcohol (big time) and grassy hops in flavour. Too boozy. Smooth though.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle… February in Franconia (2011)… Clear yellow lager with a small, fluffy, white head. Decent retention. The bouquet is quite simply of honey and pale malt. No hop presence at all, but that’s to be expected of this style. Full-bodied with a buttery mouthfeel and busy carbonation. The flavor is mostly sweet with only nominal bitterness – honey. A touch medicinal. Finishes sweet, minerally and, again, just a hint medicinal. Thanks go out to erlangernick and Koelschtrinker for making this month of Franconia lagers possible!

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
0.5 l bottle. Deep golden color. Firm honeyish and bready aroma with tart alcohol. Sweet honeyish and bready flavor with some tart and solventy alcohol as well as hint of herbal hops. Firm maltiness but also less pleasant alcohol character.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled (thanks Timo A!). Honeyish golden colour, not much head. Aroma is fruits, wood, some mild notes of sweetness. Flavour is caramel malts, rather cripsy and spicyness as well as some mild bitterness. Alcohol is showing quite well. Otherwise quite nicely balanced, but a bit burning

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled. A golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt as well as lighter notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and alcohol as well as lighter notes of straw, leading to a bitter finish. Nice body.
