Quack-Duck (1978), Bodensee, Germany Oct 7, 2008 bottle. Clear pale golden yellow, large white head. Hoppy nose. Light-bodied, pleasnatly malty with some good hoppy flavours. Pleasantly low carbonation. A wel-balanced Pils with some nice hoppy accents.
MoritzF (4019), Ruhrpott, Germany Oct 12, 2008 (bottle) Clear, golden colour with a medium-sized foamy white head. Light-sweet pale malty and minimal grainy nose with grassy and herbal hops, accompanied by a touch of barnyard. Light-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a slightly fizzy carbonation. Pale malt-character with herbal accents; dry and moderately bitter finish with a slightly grassy hoppy note. Although more hop-accented than the Fichtelgebirgs Pils, I´d prefer the latter, because of its roundness (11.X.08). Miksu (1357), Jyväskylä, Finland Oct 12, 2007 0.5 bottle. Golden color with almost no head. Malty and honeyish aroma. Sweetish flavor with good honeyish maltiness and peppery hoppiness towards finish. sayravai (3224), Helsinki, Finland Sep 19, 2007 (Bottled) Hazy yellow with a small head. Slightly corny, pale-malty aroma. Corny-malty, somewhat acidic flavor with honey hints. Light to medium-bodied with low carbonation. Definitely more malt-accented than hoppy. And not very interesting. Hildigöltur (5056), København Ø, Denmark Apr 23, 2007 Draught at some bar in Wunsiedel. Clear golden coloured. Big hoppy aroma. Very hoppy flavour with some malty notes underneath. Very bitter and crisp finish with a lingering bitterness. Excellent.
