Bottle courtesy of kyzr. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Smells of cherries and caramel. Tastes of chocolate, cherrie pie, some tarte hints and a touch of roastiness. Mouthfeel is velvety. Very enjoyable.

Light red, dark black, tan head, light lacing. Nose of light medicinal cherry and some odd roasted funky malt. The flavor is very medicinal like the juice from a jar of mendocino cherries and a very dry mouthfeel. Chalky & overfermented. Not too good.

Bottle from John’s Market in Portland, OR. Dark reddish amber, very dark, with a pink tinged light head. Aromas of dark roasted malt, chocolate and dark fruit. Medium body with fizzy/creamy carbonation. Flavor is cherry over coffee and chocolate. Goes down well. Reminds of chocolate covered cherries sans sugar creme. Finish is dry roast with cherry and a little coffee. Surprisingly good. Might make an aperitif. Woke me up.

Pours dark brown with a tan/beige head. Sweet cherry nose. This whole brew just tasted like cherry ice cream, a bit sweet and syrupy on the cherry flavor.

Bottle. Pours a nice deep brown with ruby red highlights. Aroma immediately brings Dr. Pepper to mind, so not a great first impression. But let the head settle a little and chocolate becomes much more apparent. The palate is nicely balanced with sweet chocolate malt and black cherries in a decent balance, although this is certainly leaning toward being a tad too sweet. Overall I enjoyed this, but I do have a soft spot for this kind of "porter hybrid" type of beer.

Tap at Duck Island. Dark brown with red hues and a nice tan head. Had an aroma that was like a cherry tootsie roll, or Cherry chocolate Dr. Pepper. It smelt artificial. A little earthy too. This was like a chocolate cherry coke to me with a mildly earthy hop finish. I like Cherry Coke and Dr. Pepper, but this somewhat odd.

4oz Taster - Hop Scotch Spring Beer Festival - Seattle, WA
Aroma – Had a nice cherry and porter dark malt aroma.
Appearance – Reddish Brown in color, thin head and actually was hazy for a porter.
Flavor – Wow this beer goes south fast. Has a cherry start then after a few sips this beer goes flat, with a dark chocolate dry sour flavor. Not a good flavor for this beer was chalky, and very off.
Palate – Sour Mouthfeel, Chalky texture with a dry bakers chocolate finish.
Overall – I was looking so forward in trying this beer that when I got it. I was very disappointed. I was hoping for this awesome beer but I got the exact opposite. This beer needs work. I just hope this was a bade keg and the others where rocking. I will try again at a later date.

On tap at Duck Island. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Cherry tootsie-roll aroma. Medium body and carbonation. Taste of chocolate, artificial cherries, artificial vanilla, with a somewhat medicinal and rather metallic finish. I couldn’t get close to finishing this.
