DrunkAsASkunk (848), Lynnwood, Washington, USA May 19, 2007 This beer pours an amberish red color with a frothy slightly off white head with good lacing. From aesthetics alone I was pretty damn pleased with this beer. The aroma is pretty prominent for something i had low hopes for. Caramel and hops are in there with a chocolate or molasses undertone. The flavor is very dessert like and almost leads me to think this would be a nice dessert beer. Lighter carbonation levels with chocolate and caramel malt for sweetness and very little bittering hops in the finish and nuts to dry things up. Fairly dry finish, but no complaints. Smooth sipping beer that has probably been aging on me for 2 years now due to negligence.
mjg74 (1869), La Mesa, California, USA Aug 14, 2008 Bottle from Hamilton, MT. Dark amber in color. Bready malt aroma with a few hops. Flavor is malty with some traces of hops. BlackDonald (1039), North Carolina, USA Jul 19, 2008 Dark amber pour with a gigantic off white head. Like a big storm cloud brewing in my glass. Smells of sweet toffee and honey. Light bodied with a chewy texture on the palate. Finishes with a slightly malty tang. Good flavor and very drinkable. A decent session amber. gringo332 (129), Richardson, Texas, USA Jul 14, 2008 This beer pours an amberish red color with a frothy slightly off white head with good lacing. Aroma of toast, caramel, dry leaves. Earthy crystal malt profile, nice little amber. Skyview (3063), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA May 23, 2008 Received single 12-oz bottle via trade with 5000. Pours a semi-clear copper amber brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that dissipates to a film top and decent off-white ring. Aroma of caramel malt, flowery hops, some white pepper, apples and a touch of brown sugar. Taste is slightly biscuit caramel malt, some dry hop character with toasted bread, and a touch of citrus zest. Finish is semi-dry a little roasted nuts and chocolate aftertaste that even has a lingering dark iced tea finish. An interesting amber ale.
